National refers to the nation of a specific country, and anthem refers to a patriotic song sang in due respect to the country in question. National Anthems are naturally sung, the lyrics and the music blend together to give a melodious outcome. They are written in the official language of the respective countries.

To work the mines and the land. African slaves were traded across continents since they were cheap; soon, they outnumbered the planters in the estates but were too scared for a rebellion. This leads to a raced-based system leading to commodification in the mines which was not present before their arrival. Slave trade was a profitable business and its target markets were well known in the West.

It laments the loss of land, of identity, of love, of voice, of individuality and as a whole is the representative of a country’s agony and its endurances when separatist movement is on the move. The title of the novel is the Latin name for Odysseus. ‘Ulysses’ is indeed an epic of two races; namely the Jews and the Irish. Joyce considered it to be the most well rounded portrait of a human being in literature. It has correspondences with the Homeric epic ‘Odysseus’. Joyce makes it apparent from the very outset. He mentioned the chapter titles in the Linati scheme but removed them before the publication of the novel. Odysseus is the prototype of his hero, since he is a kind of Everyman.

It puts forward the shades of difference between Hindi and Urdu framed within the rise of English. Coincidentally, the year the novel was published was the year the Urdu literary legend, the master lyricist, Faiz Ahmad Faiz passed away. The presence of Urdu in India is a powerful souvenir of the itinerary of history dogged by a heritage which came down from the Moghals Empire.

Racism and sexism begin with the body; through black-white sexual attraction and love, the laws that had forbidden interracial relationship under apartheid is challenged by the writers. The silent black/white women depicted in the novels seems to shed lights on the question of women’s self-empowerment within and outside the private ___domain

Lights will be shed on the different aspects such as the evolution of the English language in particular, in relation to the impact it has on the individual, social, educational and cultural level. Although the language has flourished, as a medium of parliament, judiciary, and administration, I will argue how the usage of English is influenced in both the countries.
