-Depends. If you and your spouse are working in US, you and your spouse can use your income for the support by filing I-864A, respectively. If you and your spouse are working outside US, then your salary income (before you receive it) can not be counted into the support, but you can use your assets such as savings, stocks, or house (which must be convertible to cash within 12 months), etc. even if the assets are in outside US (the Government need to allow you bring the assets to US in this case).
Your son needs to file I-864 even if he has no income.
