[Message part 1 (text/plain, inline)]
Package: alsa-utils
Version: 1.2.3-1 amd64

Please consider adding the little helper utility:

    alsacap

to the toolbox. I found the utility by following a link from
the [Documenation] [1] section on the alsa homepage. The link
leads to a page [A close look at ALSA] [2] written by Volker
Schatz.

The utility is very helpful for debugging alsa setups because
it helps exploring the *parameter space*. It can help answer
such questions as why certain parameters cannot be sucessfully
applied to a particular soundcard and how to remedy the situation.

The software can be compiled and installed by:

    wget https://www.volkerschatz.com/noise/alsacap.tgz
    tar - xzf alsacap.tgz
    cd alsacap
    make
    sudo make install

The license is:
