Package: ssh
Version: 1:3.8.1p1-8
Severity: normal
I notice that xbase-clients is selected which is appropriate since
X11Forward is no be default, however, the uniniated user will wonder
why after enabling X11Forward yes that it isn't working. No message
to the effect that xauth must be installed is given only that the
DISPLAY variable seems screwed up. Obviously having some experience
in the debian universe I immediately read /usr/share/doc/ssh and found
the reason. I wonder if ssh can somehow output a message indicating
the absence of ssh. Of course on most machines one has X11 running
and this includes xbase-clients so this kind of problem would hardly
ever be noticed.
