Wodim is still writing to stdout when called with -msinfo. This command line switch is used to generate a tuple used by genisoimage to generate an appropriate multi session track.

In my case I'm getting the following output:
Speed set to 4234 KB/s
wodim: Drive needs to reload the media to return to proper status.
wodim: Cannot load media with this drive!
wodim: Try to load media by hand.
Re-load disk and hit <CR>
wodim: Cannot get next writable address for 'invisible' track.
wodim: This means that we are checking recorded media.
wodim: This media cannot be written in streaming mode anymore.
wodim: If you like to write to 'preformatted' RW media, try to blank the media first.
wodim: Cannot read first writable address

out of which the following lines are being written to stdout:
Speed set to 4234 KB/s
Re-load disk and hit <CR>

This one can and shall be hidden.

But this one is problematic. Existing frontends use it for interaction.

IMO it was from the beginning an utterly stupid idea to use stdin for
such information. Even doing this way it should have been tagged somehow
to avoid problems.

Therefore I added an option called -msifile=filename to store the data
reliably in a dedicated file.

Is this acceptable for your needs?

Eduard.

My needs are simple. If it's acceptable to you, then it is alright with
me.

Thank you,
