Subject: Should look for desktop files in autostart dirs too
Date: Sun, 29 Nov 2009 14:47:50 +0100
Package: gnome-shell
Version: 2.28.1~git20091125-1
Severity: normal
Hi,
gnome-shell locates icons to display in the alt tab list via
g_key_file_load_from_data_dirs (in
shell_app_system_load_from_desktop_file). This misses the icons
specified in .desktop files from autostarted programs
(/etc/xdg/autostart, /usr/share/gnome/autostart). Since these
applications usually don't ship a separate desktop file in
/usr/share/applications. The result is a very tiny icon in the window
list wich looks ugly.
To reproduce have a look at the icon of network-manager's about dialog
(nm-applet) in the alt-tab list. It's tiny, after copying
/etc/xdg/nm-applet.desktop to /usr/share/applications the icon has the
correct size.
Cheers,
-- Guido

Hey,
this is an old bug report.
Could you please still reproduce this issue with newer gnome-shell version
like 3.4.2-7+deb7u1 or 3.8.4-5+b1 ?
I think it is fixed in these newer versions.
thanks
regards
althaser
