Subject: alsa-utils: "aconnect -d" on Midi Through ports uninterruptible
Date: Sat, 12 Dec 2009 16:43:39 +0100
Package: alsa-utils
Version: 1.0.21-1
Severity: important

Hi,

$ aconnect -li
client 0: 'System' [type=kernel]
    0 'Timer           '
    1 'Announce        '
client 14: 'Midi Through' [type=kernel]
    0 'Midi Through Port-0'
$ aconnect -lo
client 14: 'Midi Through' [type=kernel]
    0 'Midi Through Port-0'
$ aconnect 14:0 14:0

$ aconnect -d 14:0 14:0

the last line never returns. the process is marked 'D Uninterruptible sleep
(usually IO)', and there is indeed no way to kill it or put it to sleep.

cheers, piem

Maybe this is because you tried to oonnect 14:0 with itself?

hi,

maybe but if that's not supposed to work, the connection should not even
be made in the first place, and aconnect 14:0 14:0 should return an error.
