Subject: less: Incorrect hilighting of search results
Date: Wed, 24 Apr 2013 14:39:12 +0200
Package: less
Version: 436-1
Severity: minor
When searching for lines starting with some characters, less also sometimes
hilight parts which match the regexp, except for that they do not start at
the start of the line.
Searching itself is not effected. Searching for the previous or next matching
line works as expected.
Used search queries:
- /^[^ ]....
- /^[a-z]....
Reproducing works good on large text-files, e.g. /usr/share/common-licenses/GPL
Open the file, and scroll to the end (use key 'G').
(one of the incorrect hilights start exactly 3 KB before the end of the file,
so I assume the ^ in my search query matched the start of the buffer at that
time, and not the \n)
