[Message part 1 (text/plain, inline)]
Package: gphoto2 Version: 2.5.4-1 Severity: important After update from stable gphoto2 is unable to access pictures from the camera. It is detected, but still not usable. (Log is attached). Rebuilding the version from stable 2.4.14-1 in current testing and replacing 2.5.4-1 by the rebuild 2.4.14-1 makes everything functional as before in stable. (I.e. a regression from stable) Please tell me which further other information I can provide to help you (strace, gdb, …) Now the full trace for the non-functional 2.5.4-1 from testing: 0.000158 main(2): BITTE IMMER FOLGENDE ZEILE EINFÜGEN WENN DEBUG MESSAGES AN DIE MAILINGLISTE GESCHICKT WERDEN: 0.000274 main(2): gphoto2 2.5.4 0.000302 main(2): gphoto2 wurde mit den folgenden Optionen übersetzt: 0.000317 main(2): + gcc (C compiler used) 0.000331 main(2): + popt (mandatory, for handling command-line parameters) 0.000344 main(2): + exif (for displaying EXIF information) 0.000358 main(2): + cdk (for accessing configuration options) 0.000371 main(2): + aa (for displaying live previews) 0.000384 main(2): + jpeg (for displaying live previews in JPEG format) 0.000397 main(2): + readline (for easy navigation in the shell) 0.000423 main(2): libgphoto2 2.5.4 0.000440 main(2): libgphoto2 wurde mit den folgenden Optionen übersetzt: 0.000453 main(2): + all camlibs 0.000467 main(2): + gcc (C compiler used) 0.000480 main(2): + ltdl (for portable loading of camlibs) 0.000493 main(2): + EXIF (for special handling of EXIF files) 0.000510 main(2): libgphoto2_port 0.10.0 0.000525 main(2): libgphoto2_port wurde mit den folgenden Optionen übersetzt: 0.000538 main(2): + gcc (C compiler used) 0.000551 main(2): + ltdl (for portable loading of camlibs) 0.000564 main(2): + USB (libusb1, for USB cameras) 0.000577 main(2): + serial (for serial cameras) 0.000590 main(2): + no resmgr (serial port access and locking) 0.000603 main(2): + no ttylock (serial port locking) 0.000615 main(2): + no lockdev (serial port locking) 0.000634 main(2): CAMLIBS env var not set, using compile-time default instead 0.000647 main(2): IOLIBS env var not set, using compile-time default instead 0.000660 main(2): invoked with following arguments: 0.000674 main(2): --debug 0.000686 main(2): --debug-logfile=my-logfile.txt 0.000699 main(2): -L 0.000792 setting/gphoto2-setting.c(2): Creating $HOME/.gphoto 0.000941 setting/gphoto2-setting.c(2): Loading settings from file "/home/helge/.gphoto/settings" 0.001512 main(2): The user has not specified both a model and a port. Hello, my stable machine died and I set up a testing machine having version 2.5.10-1. However, gphoto2 does work even less: now the camera is not detected. When I plug it in, I see (in /var/log/syslog): Jul 26 12:09:21 samd kernel: [11905.608945] usb 11-3: new full-speed USB device number 3 using ohci-pci Jul 26 12:09:22 samd kernel: [11905.780175] usb 11-3: New USB device found, idVendor=04a9, idProduct=3085 Jul 26 12:09:22 samd kernel: [11905.780182] usb 11-3: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0 Jul 26 12:09:22 samd kernel: [11905.780187] usb 11-3: Product: Canon Digital Camera Jul 26 12:09:22 samd kernel: [11905.780191] usb 11-3: Manufacturer: Canon Inc. It worked in 2.4.x, however, I'm no longer able to (trivially) forward port this version :-(( The log file is attached, any idea how to rectify this greatly appreciated. Can you set '--camera MODEL' and see what happens ? It will necessary to use '--port' too. "--list-cameras" (List supported camera models.) and "--list-ports" (List supported port devices) can be a help. regards, -- Herbert Parentes Fortes Neto (hpfn)
