Subject: wicd: Does not take into account hard rfkill when turning on Wifi.
Date: Wed, 17 Jan 2018 14:13:42 -0500
Package: wicd
Version: 1.7.4+tb2-5
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

I noticed that when using the airplane mode switch on my laptop (that toggles
both soft and hard rfkill), wicd does not check the hard rfkill status before
toggling the soft rfkill. This causes a problem as the switch simply toggles
both rfkills which makes it so that pressing the airplane mode switch again
disables the hard lock but re-enables the soft lock, and so on.

The workaround is to press airplane mode again, then go into wicd, press the
"Turn On Wifi" button and finnally press the airplane mode switch again.

A solution would be to stop the user from removing the soft rfkill if a hard
rfkill is in place.

Also the label for the "Turn On Wifi" and "Turn Off Wifi" does not change when
rfkill is manually changed, adding to the confusion.
