Shang Ting (商挺; 1209–1288), also known as Shang Mengqing (商孟卿) and in old age as "The Old Man of Zuo Mountain" (左山老人), was a Yuan period writer of Chinese sanqu poetry. He was also a noted calligrapher and landscape artist. Unfortunately, although a prolific poet, most of his writings have been lost. The surviving sanqu poems of the poet are all written to the same musical mode and song title. However, the content of the poems suggests they were written at different times. 商挺1209年 - 1289年，字孟卿，號東山老人。元朝大臣，曹州濟陰縣（今山東省菏澤市）人，元世祖時參知政事。祖先為殷姓，為趙弘殷避諱改為商姓。二十四歲時，蒙古人攻克汴京，他北逃到冠氏縣依附趙天錫，和元好問、楊奐等人交遊。後來被嚴忠濟徵辟為經歷。1253年，被忽必烈徵召，輔佐楊惟中宣撫關中。次年，升任宣撫副使，有政績。蒙哥去世後，幫助忽必烈謀奪汗位，他和廉希憲宣撫四川陝西，他定策擊敗阿里不哥的同黨阿蘭答兒、渾都海。中統二年（1261年），擔任參知政事。中統四年（1263年），賜給金符，行四川樞密院事。至元元年（1264年），入拜參知政事，和姚樞、竇默等儒臣編纂《五經要語》。至元八年（1271年），擔任樞密副使。議定軍官品級俸祿制度。至元九年（1272年），擔任安西王忙哥剌王相。至元十四年（1277年），忙哥剌奉命北征，他留在關中主持政務。因為王妃擅殺前王相趙炳，被牽連下獄。至元十六年（1279年），才得獲釋。至元二十年（1283年），再次擔任樞密副使。因為得病免官。至元二十六年（1289年），商挺去世。善詩文工隸書，元仁宗延祐初年，謚號文定。其子商琥、商璘、商瑭、商瓛、商琦。
