唐彥謙（848年 - 915年），字茂業，號鹿門先生。京兆府萬年縣人，祖籍北海郡平壽縣（今山東省濰坊市西南）。父唐持，朔方、昭義軍節度使。叔父唐扶，福建觀察團練使。子唐渙，領夷州刺史。孫陶谷。大中二年（848年）出生。才高負氣，以博學多藝聞名鄉里。
能作詩，早年學溫庭筠，唐彥謙師法眾家，但李商隱對其影響最大，唐彥謙的《無題十首》，容易使人聯想到李商隱的「無題詩」。楊億稱其「為詩纂慕玉溪，得其清峭感愴」。代表作有《採桑女》和《宿田家》。
咸通末年始舉進士，歷經十餘年，于咸通二年登第。乾符末年，兵亂，避地漢南。中和中期，王重榮鎮守河中，聘為從事。歷官興元（今陝西漢中）節度副使，晉州、絳州、閬州（今四川閬中）、壁州（今四川通江）刺史。光啟末，王重榮遇害，貶漢中掾曹。楊守亮鎮守興元（今陝西漢中市東）時，擔任判官。晚年隱居鹿門山，專事著述。
卒于漢中，卒年約在景福元年前後。
著有《鹿門集》3卷，附拾遺1卷，續補遺1卷，並由吏部侍郎薛庭珪作序。
