冉天元1765年 - 1800年，清朝中期農民起義首領，四川通江農民起義軍領袖。通江（今屬四川省）人。冉天元在乾隆六十年（1795年），開始修習白蓮教。因為官府搜捕嚴緊，嘉慶元年十二月（公元1797年1月），在通江王家寨從叔叔冉文儔起義，嘉慶三年十二月（1799年1月），冉文儔被俘陣亡，繼為通江藍號元帥。他善于利用險要地形設伏，誘敵深入，加以圍殲。蒼溪之戰獲大勝，發展至十多萬人。嘉慶五年，江油馬蹄崗之戰，他被俘，在成都遇害。
