《列傳第一百六十三》
4  | 莊烈帝即位，赦免。崇禎元年起故官。會當京察，請先治媚璫者附逆之罪，其他始付考功，報可。旋擢太僕少卿，歷太常卿、刑部右侍郎。讞耿如杞獄，不稱旨，并尚書韓繼思下吏，尋落職歸。久之，召為工部右侍郎。國用不支，廷議開採、鼓鑄、屯田、鹽法諸事。慎言屢疏陳奏，悉根本計。大學士楊嗣昌議改府州縣佐為練備、練總，慎言以更制事大，歷陳八議，其後卒不能行。由左侍郎遷南京戶部尚書，七疏引疾，不允。就改吏部尚書，掌右都御史事。 |
