《列傳第八十九 歸奚三崔盧二薛衛胡丁二王殷》
38  | 薛戎，字元夫，河中寶鼎人。客毘陵陽羨山，年四十餘不仕。江西觀察使李衡闢署幕府，三返乃肯應。故宰相齊映代衡，奏留之。府罷，復歸陽羨。福建觀察使柳冕闢佐其府。先是，馬總佐鄭滑府，監軍宦人誣劾之，貶泉州別駕。冕欲除總以附幸家，即使戎攝刺史，按置其罪。戎曰：「以是待我耶？我始不願仕，正謂此爾！」不肯從，還白其狀。冕怒，據案引戎入，戎叱引者曰：「見賓客乃爾乎？」由東廂進。冕度未可屈，揖而去，囚之它館，環兵脅辱之，累月，戎終不為屈。淮南節度使杜佑聞之，書責冕，會冕亦病死，得解，自放江湖間。 |
