58  | 杭州布衣吳穎芳，字西林，博學多聞，嘗自序其詩曰：「古人讀書，不專務詞章，偶爾流露謳吟，僅抒所蓄之一二。其胸中所貯，淵乎其莫測也。遞降而下，傾瀉漸多。逮至元、明，以十分之學，作十分之詩，無餘蘊矣。次焉者，或溢其量以出。故其經營之處，時露不足；如舉重械，雖同一運用，而勞逸之態各殊。古人勝於近代，可準是以觀。」予嘗試武童，見有開弓至十石而色變手戰者。曉之曰：「汝務十石之名，而醜態盡露；何若用五石、六石之從容大方乎」頗與吳言相合。 |
