1  | 庾季才字叔奕，新野人也。八世祖滔，隨晉元帝過江，官至散騎常侍，封遂昌侯，因家于南郡江陵縣。祖詵，梁處士，與宗人易齊名。父曼倩，光祿卿。季才幼穎悟，八歲誦『尚書』，十二通《周易》，好占玄象。居喪以孝聞。梁廬陵王績辟荊州主簿，湘東王繹重其術藝，引授外兵參軍。西臺建，累遷中書郎，領太史，封宜昌縣伯。季才固辭太史，元帝曰：「漢司馬遷歷世尸掌，魏高堂隆猶領此職，不無前例，卿何憚焉。」帝亦頗明星曆，因共仰觀，從容謂季才曰：「朕猶慮禍起蕭牆，何方可息？」季才曰：「頃天象告變，秦將入郢，陛下宜留重臣，作鎮荊、陝，整旆還都，以避其患。假令羯寇侵蹙，止失荊、湘，在於社稷，可得無慮。必久停留，恐非天意也。」帝初然之，後與吏部尚書宗懍等議，乃止。俄而江陵陷滅，竟如其言。 |
