34  | 王錫爵，字元馭，太倉人，嘉靖壬戌，㑹試第一，歴官禮部侍郎。時張居正奪情，翰林吳中行、趙用賢上疏力爭，居正怒，錫爵率同官解之，居正假歸治喪，未匝月，部臣急請召還，使吏邀署名，錫爵叱之去，遂乞省親歸。居正敗，以禮部尚書入閣，㑹有三王並封之，議諸臣疏諌者且得罪，錫爵力為調劑，事得中輟，後竟以錫爵言皇長子出閣，如東宫儀，遂求歸錫爵，學有原本文章，得唐、宋人風格，所著奏草、文草、牘草若干卷，卒諡文肅。子衡，字辰玉，有文名，北闈領解被論，奉㫖覆試，援筆立成，仕編修，乞終養歸。 |
