《卷五十二論二》
32  | 歷觀古今功名之士，皆有積累殊異之迹，勞神苦體，契闊勤思，平居不惰其業，窮困不易其素。是以卜式立志於耕牧，而黃霸受道於囹圄，終有榮顯之福，以成不朽之名。〔《漢書》曰：卜式，河南人，以田畜為事，入山牧羊，十餘年，羊致千餘頭。又曰：黃霸，字次公，淮陽人。遷丞相長史。宣帝欲襃先帝，夏侯勝曰：武帝不宜為立廟樂。勝坐非議詔書，霸坐阿縱勝不舉劾，皆下獄。勝、霸既久繫，霸欲從勝受經，勝辭以罪死。霸曰：朝聞道，夕死可矣。勝賢其言，遂授之。系更再冬，講論不怠。〕故山甫勤於夙夜，而吳漢不離公門，豈有游惰哉？〔《毛詩》曰：肅肅王命，仲山甫將之。夙夜匪懈，以事一人。《東觀漢記》曰：吳漢，字子顏，南陽人。鄧禹及諸將多漢舉者，再三召見。其後勤勤不離公門。上亦以其南陽人，漸親之。〕 |
