1  | 明項穆撰。王穉登所作穆小傳，稱其初名德枝，郡大夫徐公易為純。後乃更名穆，字德純，號曰貞元，亦號曰無稱子。秀水項元汴之子也。元汴鑒藏書畫，甲於一時，至今論真跡者，尚以墨林印記別真僞。穆承其家學，耳濡目染，故於書法特工。因抒其心得，作為是書，凡十七篇。曰書統，曰古今，曰辨體，曰形質，曰品格，曰資學，曰規矩，曰常變，曰正奇，曰中和，曰老少，曰神化，曰心相，曰取舍，曰功序，曰器用，曰知識。大旨以晉人為宗，而排蘇軾、米芾書為棱角怒張，倪瓚書寒儉，軾、芾加以工力，可至古人，瓚則終不可到。雖持論稍為過高，而終身一藝，研求至深，煙楮之外，實多獨契。衡以取法乎上之義，未始非書家之圭臬也。 |
