16  | 囂歸天水，招聚其衆，復據故地，自稱西州上將軍，三輔士大夫避亂者多歸之。囂傾身引接，為布衣交，以范逡平陵人為師友，鄭興字少贛，河南開封人。為祭酒，申屠綱見前、杜林字伯山，扶風茂林人。為治書馬援字文淵，茂林人。王元字惠孟，杜陵人。等為將軍班彪字叔皮，穉之子。之屬為賓客，由是名震西州，聞于山東，馬援少時，以家用不足辭其兄，況欲就邊郡田牧，況曰：汝大才，當晩成良工，不示人，以璞且從所好，遂至北地牧田，常曰：「丈夫為志，窮當益堅，老當益壯。後有畜數千頭，穀數萬斛，既而嘆曰：「凡殖財産貴，其能賑施也，否則守錢虜耳」。乃盡㪚于親舊，聞隗囂好士，往從之，囂甚敬重與决籌䇿。竇融字周公，扶風平陵人，廣國七世孫。據河西，自稱五郡，武威、張掖、酒泉、敦煌、金城，是為河西五郡。大將軍。 |
