《樂三》
24  | 大唐高祖受禪後，軍國多務，未遑改刱，樂府尚用隋氏舊文。至武德九年正月，始命太常少卿祖孝孫考正雅樂，至貞觀二年六月樂成，奏之。太宗謂侍臣曰：「禮樂之作，蓋聖人緣情設教，以為撙節，治之興替，豈此之由。」御史大夫杜淹對曰：「前代興亡，實由此樂。陳之將亡也，為玉樹後庭花。齊之將亡也，為伴侶曲。行路聞之，，莫不悲泣，所謂亡國之音也。以是觀之，蓋樂之由也。」太宗曰：「不然。夫音聲能感人，自然之道也。故懽者聞之即大悅，憂者聞之即大悲。悲悅之情，在於人心，非由樂也。將亡之政，其人必苦，然苦心所感，故聞之則悲耳。何有樂聲哀怨，能使人悅者悲乎。今玉樹後庭花、伴侶之曲，其聲具存，朕當為公奏之，知公必不悲矣。」 |
