1  | 張九齡在相位，有謇諤匪躬之誠。玄宗既在位年深，稍怠庶政，每見帝，無不極言得失。李林甫時方同列，聞帝意，陰欲中之。時欲加朔方節度使牛仙客實封，九齡因稱其不可，甚不葉帝旨。他日，林甫請見，屢陳九齡頗懷誹謗。於時方秋，帝命高力士持白羽扇以賜，將寄意焉。九齡惶恐，因作賦以獻，又為《歸燕詩》以貽林甫。其詩曰：「海燕何微眇，乘春亦蹇來。豈知泥滓賤，只見玉堂開。繡戶時雙入，華軒日幾迴。無心與物競，鷹隼莫相猜。」林甫覽之，知其必退，恚怒稍解。九齡洎裴耀卿罷免之日，自中書至月華門，將就班列，二人鞠躬卑遜，林甫處其中，抑揚自得，觀者竊謂「一雕挾兩兔」。俄而詔張、裴為左右僕射，罷知政事。林甫視其詔，大怒曰：「猶為左右丞相邪？」二人趨就本班，林甫目送之。公卿以下視之，不覺股栗。 |
