| 24 | 淳化元年，丁外艱。二年，同知京朝官考課，遷中書舍人，充承旨。先是，曲宴將相，翰林學士皆預坐，梁迥啟太祖罷之；又皇帝御丹鳳樓，翰林承旨侍從升樓西南隅，禮亦廢。至是，易簡請之，皆復舊制。易簡續唐李肇《翰林志》二卷以獻，帝賜詩以嘉之。帝嘗以輕綃飛白大書「玉堂之署」四字，令易簡榜於廳額。易簡會韓伾、畢士安、李至等往觀。上聞，遣中使賜宴甚盛，至等各賦詩紀其事，宰相李昉等亦作詩頌美之。他日，易簡直禁中，以水試欹器。上密聞之，因晚朝，問曰：「卿所玩得非欹器耶？」易簡曰：「然，江南徐邈所作也。」命取試之。易簡奏曰：「臣聞日中則昃，月滿則虧，器盈則覆，物盛則衰。願陛下持盈守成，慎終如始，以固丕基，則天下幸甚。」 |
