Re: Cinnamon - software rendering
I am running Mint Linux 19 in virtualbox 6.0.12. I migrated this VM from VMWare workstation where it works fine. I have set the graphics controller to VBoxSVGA, set 3D acceleration and given it 128 MB of video memory. The VBoxSVGA vGPU is intended for Windows guests. With a Linux guest you should s...

Re: After Clicking Graphical Install Segmentation fault
Linking to a file on your local hard drive isn't going to display it in the forums. Use the "Upload attachment" option then we will be able to see what you see. If it is a VirtualBox error dialog then use the "Copy" option and post the text instead.

Re: Conversion of dynamically allocated vdi to raw-image has different file sizes
How do I ensure that the iso is the actual size of the vdi? You have created an iso that is the actual size of the vdi. You defined a virtual disk (.vdi) as 50GB therefore all the key structures are setup for it being 50GB. It being dynamic just means that the space only gets taken on the host when...

Re: Problems using either VMSVGA or VBoxSVGA drivers
The VBoxSVGA and VMSVGA vGPU have a few issues that the devs are working out. The more feedback and tickets they get the sooner the issues will be resolved for all. As for your rant about the UI and not knowing which vGPU to select then you should have consulted the user manual where it says: VBoxSV...

Re: Can't get UEFI shell to recognise \ key.
You are running a macOS guest (aka a Hackintosh) under a Windows 10 host on non-Apple hardware. This is not supported and is also a violation of Apple's End User License Agreement (EULA). More details can be found at: Important notice regarding Mac OS X as Guest . Had you searched around the forums ...

Re: blackcreen running linux on VM!!!please help
In order to be able to help we are going to need much more information than you have so far given. To paraphrase one of our esteemed moderators 'this isn't Twitter, you aren't limited to 140 (as then was) characters'. Firstly, if it was working and now doesn't what has changed? Host updates? Guest u...

Re: idea for better DOS hardware support (i.e. audio, for instance) (#18855)
The development of VirtualBox is driven by Oracle's paying customers and the open source version rides piggyback. I doubt that any of Oracle's customers have a need for any more functionality for DOS guests than is already present. You could, if you wish develop the support (this is open source when...

Re: VB installation "breaks" SMB share connectivity
I don't remember seeing any issues with accessing SMB and CIFS shares when my 2017 iMac was running OSX 10.14.4 and VirtualBox. It was a while ago though as I have been running 10.14.5 for a while. I guess we need to start to narrow things down a bit. Is it as soon as you have installed VirtualBox? ...

Re: BSOD on Windows 7 Pro and Windows 10 Pro guests with VBox 6.0.10
This is probably the known issue with the 6.0.10 Guest Additions. More details can be found in Guest Bluescreen using shared folders in VirtualBox > 6.0.9 (#18766).

Partial log files copied into the body of a forum post aren't any help. All you have shown us is the after effect of the issue, not any of the things that may have led up to it. Please zip the full log file and use the "Upload attachment" option to post it here.

There is another major issue with the shared folders in VirtualBox > 6.0.9 that you should be aware of. See Guest Bluescreen using shared folders in VirtualBox > 6.0.9 (#18766).olaris2006 wrote:This issue was solved in VirtualBox 6.0.10

Re: No sound on Windows 7
The guest configuration settings in the image look to be correct. If you look at Device Manager in Windows 7 is it showing that all drivers are installed and running correctly? To give much more advice than that then we will need to see the VBox.log file from the guest. zip the log file and post it ...
