All, A perennial challenge for data is the subjective perception of quality. Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in a specific ___domain can provide immense value to Linked Data via linksets that incorporate subject matter ___domain knowledge. Historically, the main problem has been an inaccurate assumption that linkset publication implies free access for everyone, irrespective of production and maintenance costs. Fundamentally, this is a function of challenges associated with Web-scale verifiable identity and access control lists (ACLs). Most Linked Open Data publications typically emulates the CD-ROM [1] style of data delivery, unfortunately. At the current time though, bearing in mind the power of WebID as a solution for Web-scale verifiable identity, there's foundation in place for a CD-RW [2] model of Linked Open Data publication where access and traversal is WebID ACL constrained. To conclude, SMEs can fix and publish linksets as part of a virtuous cycle and ecosystem that's actually more like a webby variant or extension of Amazon's mechanical turk system [3]. BTW -- There's even an HTTP Status code 402 [4] for indicating "Payment Required" :-) Links: 1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CD-ROM 2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CD-RW 3. https://www.mturk.com/mturk/welcome 4. http://bit.ly/OFwxUO -- some of my WebID ACL related posts . -- Regards, Kingsley Idehen Founder & CEO OpenLink Software Company Web: http://www.openlinksw.com Personal Weblog: http://www.openlinksw.com/blog/~kidehen Twitter/Identi.ca handle: @kidehen Google+ Profile: https://plus.google.com/112399767740508618350/about LinkedIn Profile: http://www.linkedin.com/in/kidehen
