Due to hibernation, these are not much active as compared to rainy season. According to native people of the area, severe plant and vegetable loss was not only due to infestation but also due to the stinking smell of the mucus layer in wetland dry conditions released by the Giant African snail, Achatina fulica different plants. The pest, also classified as a large-scale invader, has been known to be difficult to exterminate without harming nearby organisms as well as ecosystems. Hence, there should be a proper method of control measure of this pest. The following article describes possible methods of control measures researched since ages chemical as well as non-chemical. Even though a lot were proven to be unsuccessful, some methods do play an important role in the extermination of this species with respect to collective efforts, destruction scale, costings etc.Mechanical extermination is a lot more effective than the chemicals introduced which have a possibility of getting washed away due to rains or other possible circumstances. This article mainly focuses on discussing previously studied control methods and defining the criteria needed to develop a suitable pesticide.

The fishes play a very important role in the food chain and food web. Jog River near the Dapoli Ratnagiri district is the main water resource helpful for agriculture and fisheries it has good water storage capacity, and the reservoir is a good source of fish fauna. The present study on the Fish diversity of Jog River was carried out from October 2020 to November 2021. During the present investigation, fish were collected and identified. The aim of this study was to reveal the diversity of fish species in this River. The present study reported 22 species of freshwater fishes belonging to 06 orders, 11 families, and 19 genera from the Dapoli of Maharashtra, India. From the present study, we concluded that the Jog River is a good source of food fish diversity.

These two sites were used in the study area for the surveys of butterflies namely “Nadgaon Village and Gulmohar park”, a total of 36 individuals and 35 species of butterflies belong to 5 families and were recorded during the study period.Nymphalidae was the richest amongst families that comprised (15 and 42%) of the total species of butterfly recorded in the study area which was followed by Lycaenidae (10 and 28%), Pieridae (5 and 14%) Papilioninae (5 and 14%) and Riodinidae family were the lowest (1 and 3%) respectively. Amongst the species of butterflies Which were observed in the study area, 4 of them were abundantly and 2 species were common while 8 numbers of the species of butterflies were rare. In addition to that 7 numbers of the species of butterfly were occasionally found. The study area is rich in butterfly and its diversity. However further research could be conducted to obtain more details and documentation on butterfly diversity for the conservation and butterfly park.

They play a crucial role in the ecosystem as they are an important part of the food chain. This study was conducted to study the diversity of butterflies in the Dapoli city of Ratnagiri of Maharashtra, India. Different butterflies found were recorded using a digital camera and cell phones through casual observation. A study about diversities of butterfly was carried out in Dapoli city of Ratnagiri district Total of 41 individuals and 36 species of butterflies belong to 5 families and were recorded during the study period. Nymphalidae was the richest amongst families that comprised (17 and 41%) of the total species of butterfly recorded in the study area which was followed by Lycaenidae (11 and 29%), Pieridae (6 and 14%) Papilioninae (6 and 14%) and Riodinidae family were the lowest (2 and 2%) respectively. Amongst the species of butterflies Which were observed in the study area, 4 of them were abundantly and 2 species were common while 8 numbers of the species of butterflies were rare. In addition to that 7 numbers of the species of butterfly were occasionally found. The study area was held within some areas of Dapoli city which are enriched with butterfly and its diversity. The sandy shore of Harnai is one of the unique habitats for shore crab such as bubbler crabs fiddler crabs etc. The rocky shore of Harnai is also abundant with green shore crabs. In the present study, we recorded 13 species of crabs from three sites. The rocky shore of Suvarndurg was highly diverse than the Harnai beach. The feasibility of culturing crabs must receive attention in our India because the high market demand and decreasing availability of crabs. From scientific point of view, it is essential that intensive investigation on improved fishing technique on farming of suitable varieties of crabs is to is to be carried out to harvest crabs.

At the same time it affects the animal population due to the deforestation, industrial development and urbanization [1]. More than 71% of the human population depends on non-vegetarian food, so if there is shortage in animal population then what would be the source of proteins, fats, carbohydrates for non-vegetarians? And vegetarian diet would not fulfill the requirement of non-vegetarians. Taking this into consideration, some of the Indian institutes are working on sources of protein in the form of insects. For instance-Institute of Food Technologist (IFT) working on source with nutritional benefits of insects. SPA CNR Torino working on the
