I wish they had an agreement with Apple for the next 10 years for the use of Swift so we could write our apps once and run everywhere.
But we all know the NIH syndrome, which is a shame since everybody is adopting Google's web extensions standards and they should adopt whatever is best for all in other technologies too.
Swift? As an Android Developer I think it would not be a great idea.
C# maybe a better language(wasn't that open sourced?). It much closer to java than swift is and would allow people like me to move cover over faster.
I started off as a C# developer and had not done any real work in java before. I was able to move my C# code(couple thousand lines of code) over to Java in a matter of hours.
Anyway I do not wish or hope for a language change period.
Given that you know C# and Java, you should not have a great deal of trouble learning other C-family languages, including Swift.
Objective-C was/is a bit of an exception to this, as it's "funky" syntax could be a bit intimidating to developers coming from other languages - one of the motivations for Apple's switch to Swift was to address this.
I love Gimp, I'm using it everyday. It took me some time to get used to it coming from PS but now I don't even remember how PS was, haven't used it in almost a decade since it was PS3 or something.
Money is a medium of exchange. The more you produce the more you exchange value for value. The problem is not money and it has never been. The problem is power. Power to leech and mooch from the producers.
Tax is part of the social contract, and you can opt out at any time by leaving.
Further, taxes are regulated through voting, which determines both how much is collected and how it is used. If the majority disagrees, well, most of the money is theirs, not yours, and you're free to go somewhere else.
At least you're not even pretending that taxation is supposed to be good for him (by virtue of services or whatever). No, simply "you owe" the mob, however much they demand.
People always look at their tax expenditure in terms of services they are provided. It's not a product! It's a social contract that collectively binds us - we will provide a safety net for everyone, in terms of lifelong healthcare and making sure you always have shelter, food and water.
So yes, we the mob have decided you will contribute - we simply cannot watch the less fortunate suffer when we have the capacity to stop it!
"we simply cannot watch the less fortunate suffer"
... as though that was what the bulk of taxes were about. (If you define "less fortunate" and "suffer" to cover everyone and everything who happens to have a smaller income than you, it is weak sauce.)
Thank god they're stupid, can you imagine a smart robot that can think a billion times faster than us? It takes us a whole life to generate new knowledge (PhD) but it would take them just seconds. Now imagine all that knowledge accumulated in a couple of days, a week or a month. The last century alone has brought us exponential discoveries with all the technological advancements on our side.
Hey guys, off-topic and forgive me beforehand but I know there was an article about ramen and soups very similar to those in that page a month ago but I am unable to find it not even in google.
If any kind soul knows the url it'll be greatly appreciated. I love japanese food in all its presentations.
