Any idea when the first Google Fiberhoods will go live? Even if someone is interested in hosting - this may not work till later this year or early next year depending on which fiberhood they live in.
It's all speculation, but the rumor is that on Sept 9th Google does the following:
- Officially ends the first fiber rally
- Begins immediately wiring up fiberhoods, highest-demand neighborhoods first
- Announces business fiber plans
My best guess is that the highest-demand neighborhoods are fully wired by end of October.
If I am interested in the business class itinerary - do I have to recreate the entire contest or is there a chance I can jump on this deal by paying the same finders fee?
Hi ashbrahma, please email us at team at flightfox.com if you're interested in this specific itinerary and we can help you get booked. Alternatively, if you're after something similar, but equally adventurous, also get in contact and we can work with you to post a new contest.
I'd buy this. I didn't have any interest in standup comedy until Louis CK made the news here, and I was pleasantly surprised. I'd jump at the chance to broaden my collection and support the comedians at the same time.
Incidentally, it's Louis CK. I point it out because you spelled it like it's spelled rather than like it sounds ("Louie"), which is an extremely atypical spelling mistake :)
Parent is probably not a native English speaker - I can see that behaviour in myself too. I'd typically think about some words the way I'd read them in my native language, even if I'd never actually pronounce them that way. That makes it easier to make a spelling mistake that's keeping the word close to the original spelling (for example the "s" is pretty strong when I "think" Louis, even if I would never pronounce it).
There are some benefits to that - there's no way to make a mistake with they're/their... they're two completely different words!
Just to follow up on laumac's comment, the booking instructions tend to be a large part of the secret sauce. In this case, we fully verified them and all the flights were bookable at the time of verification. We disallowed a few itineraries that didn't properly visit all continents. As an aside, it was interesting to define what countries fit in which continents. For example, Guam, Curacao, Turkey.
Since fares can expire/disappear at anytime - do the experts still get to keep their commission if its gone by the time the contest creator decides to book it? Do experts have time caveats around their entries?
Edit: Grammar
As you can imagine, this is a fairly big challenge for us. As we grow it will become less important because experts in your timezone will tend to reply, but now, we simply implore customers to book quickly. We haven't had too many issues because a lot of the value comes from not-so-temporal factors.
Aside from that, we offer a full refund to anyone that asks for any reason.
