My payments have been stable - but nothing to write home about (biggest revenue comes from other networks). The telling sign will be from those who get $5,000+ / month consistently. If traffic is consistent, the change would be:

1) advertisers pulling campaigns (unlikely to happen so quickly) 2) google changes rev share (likely? unlikely?)

@josefresco - is gossip every truly useful? :)

Another lesson in email marketing that's not discussed in the article is around email frequency. One key to powerful emails is getting the timing right. Sending weekly emails is for some companies too much... and for others too little.

It's imperative to track your email campaigns:

views

clicks

activities / goals

session length

then return sessions

It's also important to give users the ability to set their own timing. Some users want emails with every update (ie on Facebook). Others want daily summaries.

Hysterical... I thought about following Juci until I saw those updates!!

She is not really flooding my message stream, though. And the updates are kind of cute ("eating cake") - not so much different from the average tweet? I just subscribed to Jimmy Wales' updates and he wrote "dinner with friends".

Very true... no matter what the power users do, they need Twitter to work!

They don't care so much about the language... but they certainly care about the ability to scale - which language can impact.

I actually like that Arrington is expressing opinion in his articles... the other authors on his staff mostly give the news in black and white. When Michael writes, at least it has an op-ed type feel to it and gets you thinking (whether or not you agree with him is a totally a different matter!).

If he provokes some useful thought for you, terrific.

That being said... the post zeroes in on a question of integrity: Quoting someone means they said what you quoted. Don't you think Arrington could give you an op-ed opinion without misrepresenting the subject?

Don't you think Arrington could give you an op-ed opinion without misrepresenting the subject?

Judging by recent events, I'm going to have to say "No".

Good post here about finding a start up job: http://ryanspoon.com/blog/2008/05/18/landing-a-great-start-u...

Also, what's your skillset? Depending on, I have a couple available opportunities... how should we contact you?!

Wow, totally missed this link before. Thanks.

As for my skill set, I'm most proficient in C++ and Java with most of my professional experience in the application development space. I have done quite a bit of web development personally and in the classroom, so I'm quite familiar with PHP, HTML and CSS as well,

While I'm more interested in staying in the app dev space, I really just want a challenging development role -- be it desktop apps, web apps, or what have you.

Also, I've updated my profile to contain my e-mail.

Not sure your email is actually on your profile. Maybe add it in txt in the about portion... I'd like to chat too!

Ahh, yes. Now it's visible. Good call, thanks.

Whoa... thats $90 for 30 berries. I would pay for a couple but I really don't need $90 of miracle fruit that is probably hazardous considering:

1. I dont know this guy 2. I dont trust this guy 3. I dont trust his shipping either

Well, he's named in the NYT article and this is something that needs to be shipped frozen overnight. I believe he is the only person that grows miracle fruit in the USA. So if you don't trust him, no miracle fruit for you.

Add an affiliate tag and you can get a 10% kick-back on my taste 'infusion'... or maybe Microsoft should add it to their new CashBack payments.

Yes, people sell things, oftentimes using the internet on "web sites."
