It’s built on a custom C++ engine (using SDL2) and uses WebRTC for networking, so a browser version is coming very soon. It’s a 2-6 player couch/online party game with Bomberman-like mechanics, plus wacky items and power-ups across nine stages.
Android developer is needed to create a small native app from scratch (Targeting Android 4.0+). Work to ideally commence on Monday February 10. On site developer is preferred but I will consider remote -- we're based 5 minutes from Oxford Circus tube station.
That's not completely correct; although Revenge of the Titans has been available for purchase & play whilst in beta, I think this is in fact its official release.
I'm currently developing a multiplayer game and use this (although with additional arguments to include variation/jitter and packet loss) to simulate somewhat more realistic network conditions. I find it's great for exposing bugs in the networking protocol that would otherwise only arise under poorer network conditions.
What possible downsides would there be to Microsoft pushing Indie games more, perhaps through a dedicated channel on the dashboard? Is that kind of exposure likely to cannibalize retail game sales to any extent? It just seems to me that there is so much potential being wasted here, and for what reason? Just look at the iOS App Store, any Indie developer can release a game and it's thriving.
