Even if wages did catch up, retired folks are permanently disadvantaged. There’s a reason why the Fed targets a low inflation rate by default than letting it float freely.
Agreed, but my comment was more specifically about inflation being "permanently embedded in prices".
Also, retirees with savings don't tend to have all of it in cash (I hope?), but even if they do, the higher cash rate will slightly offset some of those effects.

The news coverage about this happened after Fife gave the Trudeau admin a 24 hour heads up on publishing, which lead to this being publicized 30 minutes before publishing. The story was based on a credible source within the Govt. This has been stated in both Canadian and Indian media.
Where there’s lack of sleep, willpower is one of the first things to be affected. So the authors advice only applies in a narrow set of cases. Exercise, for example, might be a better way of getting out of the vicious loops caused by lack of sleep.
Yes, that part is unfortunate. It requires full routing number and account number. Maybe the phone number to account number mapping might be seen as a privacy risk in USA.
It is live on star one credit Unions mobile app. On their interface, it still requires you to specify the target’s routing and ac number like an ACH transaction. So not the most usable now.
Another difference is the use of phone numbers and simple email like identifiers in UPI. That doesn’t seem to be part of FedNow itself. What makes UPI very usable is that entering the phone number or a simple UPI id brings up some metadata about the person to confirm that the transfer target is accurate. In FedNow such a layer has to be added by Zelle or similar layer above, it appears.
Well, given that FedNow has nothing to do with UPI, per the parent's comment, and it's about inter-bank settlement, it makes sense for an application layer like Zelle to provide that.
It would make sense if they started out building a proprietary os (for which, btw, the count of people you mentioned is not enough, Microsoft employs vastly more people). If they contribute to open source projects and then cry for compensation, it makes no sense. They can expect compensation for services sure, but not for their open source contribution code. Those are the rules they are playing by. Not to mention that there’s vastly many more contributors who aren’t getting compensated.
