Sunroom | Full-Stack & Front-End Engineers | LA or REMOTE (LA +/- 3hrs) | Full-time | https://sunroom.so/

Sunroom is the app where women and non-binary creators make money. Our mission is to reduce the stigmas and restrictions women experience when monetizing themselves online. We're a small team of 10 building a creator monetization platform.

If you like having a lot of product ownership, shipping quickly, and having the freedom to learn things, Sunroom will be a good fit for you!

Tech stack: front end is React Native, TypeScript, Redux, and a fair amount of native Swift code. Back end is Nest.js (TypeScript), Go, and a little Rust. DevOps is AWS: Fargate, Postgres, and Kubernetes.

You'll be working on some of the more challenging areas of our product — on-demand video delivery, our DRM and invisible watermark systems, our video player, + a bunch of exciting creator revenue features we have on the roadmap.

Sunroom | Senior Front-End Engineer (React Native) | Los Angeles, CA or Remote | Full-time | https://sunroom.so/

Sunroom is the app where women and non-binary creators make money. (A content monetization app where the content sits halfway between Instagram and OnlyFans). Our mission is to remove the stigmas women face when asking for more, or showing more, in their pursuit of wealth.

The founders were leaders at Hinge and Bumble. We've raised a $2.5M pre-seed and we're backed by people like Whitney Wolfe Herd (CEO of Bumble). We have a small engineering team, and we're looking to bring on a strong front-end engineer, who's obsessed with building on mobile, and building world-class products for consumers.

Our tech stack: An iOS app built using React Native (with some custom native modules in Swift), and a NestJS + Typescript + Postgres + GraphQL backend deployed on AWS using Terraform.

We have a tight-knit, fast moving, and collaborative culture on the eng team.

I'm curious, what cloud or SaaS solutions are your company using? Many of the cloud solutions I've looked at explicitly forbid pornographic, explicit, or 'obscene' content. Do you self-host instead?

Atlassian Cloud, for example, forbids hosting any of that sort of content on their services, which could make development difficult. With their server subscriptions gone, this is even more of an issue.

Places like Azure will host the content internally, but don't allow you to share the content publicly in any way that ties it back to them. Such as sharing an explicit image on OneDrive or hosting a website that pings back to their IP space.

How do you get around these challenges in development?
