I would guess it would have to be a question of false confidence, akin to: 'What do you think of the cardinals win last night' when in fact there was not even a game. Obviously not sure if thats enough to shoot someone, but you may detect someone that is bullshitting quite well.
Could also positively affect offspring if spermatogenesis is blocked at the right step, stopping the gamete progenitors from accumulating somatic mutation. The majority of rare genetic diseases arising from de-novo mutations has its origin in the fathers gamete formation (with increasing risk (i.e accumulation of mutations) at older paternal age). Maybe this could block/slow down this process (i.e cell division) and in 20 years all males that still may want to have kids will take a RARα blocker.
Or just join the foiling community and go 40% wave riding. 80+% if pure down winding. Entree is a little more expensive but you save on not having to travel exotic locations (or not at all).
I think you have got your emotions mixed up, what you mean is called being jealous :)
No, obviously, I understand the hate towards those foiling in a crowed point breaks. But, at least in my circle, most of it happens in places where nobody's surfing anyways. Downwinding is pretty much invisible. Surfing has fallen victim of its own success with overcrowded spots (people intentionally breaking each others surfboards, come on) and the necessary travelling isn't great for the planet either (nor is a carbon foil, obviously)
Not op, just an observation, when you are underwater e.g. diving these things are really loud. Of course jet skis etc are even worse but the latter is not permitted were I go diving. Maybe that's part of the resentment.
Not a swede (yet) but grew up with the books (and merch): I never identified Findus as a child as he was, obviously, a cat. It was fun comic around 3-9 but I cannot say the lesson ever really made sense to me since it was just too abstract. Just funny, like the other Nordquist books. I also liked the associated PC games, which where interesting as they where quite challenging at a certain age with lots of engineering puzzles. But at that point it is really not much about Findus anymore, just the general mood that comes from the comics. Oh, and my brother loved the pancake-cake, whose receipt we somehow got from the book.
So, why didn't the board tell the other executives (and employees) what Murati had told them. When it was them in the firing line, why didn't Ilya tell that story? They could have just fired Murati (based on the screenshots presented) and continued as before. Or what am I missing?
Yeah I don't understand this either. Make a case or don't but keeping it incredibly vague, especially when so much money was on the line due to the secondary wasn't going to work.
> The reason why Eutelsat stock is increasing is because investors think that Europe is going to go nuts with "buy European" in the military space which would allow them to sell their services at inflated pricing as it's no longer a fair market between OneWeb and Starlink.
I cannot follow. Where did this happen? Isn't it the US that is not offering Starlink anymore? And did Eutelsat increase prices or did their competition change TOS? This is a form of victim blaming.
The US has not stopped providing Starlink in any way. This is entirely based around fear that the US government may suddenly stop supplying Ukraine with Starlink connectivity. Also Eutelsat is not a victim. My point is that they're capitalizing on Europe's fears.
(And there is no historic precedent for Starlink to stop serving anyone either as they have never done so in the past.)
There hasn't been any threats to stop providing Ukraine with Starlink either. (There was a single news media source claiming this, but it was denied by SpaceX, Musk, Zelensky and Ukrainian officials.)
3. Trump is pressuring Ukraine by taking away any US support. He paused military equipment delivery that was already approved, and now cut intelligence sharing.
It doesn't seem that far fetched that they would use cutting Starlink in these negotiations.
A counter argument could be that Elon still wants to get revenue for this (I think Poland is paying for it).
In my opinion, Starlink is a threat to European security, in an ever growing hostile US. Remember that Trump explicitly didn't exclude taking EU territory by force.
Even if Starlink isn't cut, they would most likely use it in their negotiations for Ukraine to "peacefully" surrender (partly) to Russia.
Apples to oranges. But in italy, solar with batteries may already be cheaper. Or geothermal energy. But, hey, they want to do a study and the study will find that out too.
Geothermal energy is already exploited in italy. About 1/3rd of Tuscany energy production happens thanks to geothermal, which is also used for heating purposes [1]
There are also new plants in the making [2]
Being tuscanian, I visited the museum or geothermal energy in larderello once, the area of larderello is quite uncanny, in some parts the ground is literally fuming steam. There's also a smell of rotten eggs lol
It definitely resonates a lot, especially since that area has been known for centuries for that type of geothermal activity. I don't know whether Dante visited larderello, but next time I meet a local guide I'll ask them
I am sorry, but this is stupid. You brought an argument on the basis that it comes from a neutral source. Turns out, it was not a neutral source. What do you do: hide the source.
Edit to clarify what I mean: You could have written that you are of the same opinion, independent of who that is. But instead you hide it, as if you had come to that conclusion totally on your own.
I was not leaning on the credibility of this person in any way except to say that it changed his mind on this one specific issue.
When a reply mentioned unrelated past statements from the same person, it was clear that they wanted to tar the statement by association rather than discuss it substantively.
And I think that you should be immensely skeptical of what somebody like Hanania is trying to do to your mind and beliefs.
I believe that mentioning that he is a virulent racist who is actively seeking a much more brutal and unjust world is critical to the substance of his other political writing. These are not unrelated statements.
