Since the 225-square-foot retreat is sold as a DIY kit, you’ll have to get your hands a little dirty to get it up and running. Three shipping crates contain all the materials, including precut wall boards, flooring, roof supplies, prehung doors and windows, nails, screws, door handles, and a lock for the front door. There are numbered assembly drawings and parts lists, and the neutral wood design can be left as is or jazzed up with a bright coat of paint.

Representative Robin Pekkala of Allwood Outlet, which is the seller of the cabin kit, told PEOPLE that it should take “two handy people” approximately five to seven days to put the cabin together (excluding the shingles and foundation).

The layout is open and airy with plenty of windows and doors leading to a single interior room, like a studio apartment. A galley kitchen can be added along the 12-foot side wall, or you can opt for an open design with a bathroom in the back. There is also plenty of room for a living space and a table in the kitchen. You can even put up a wall or two to create separate rooms.

In an Instagram post, the brand shared how one cabin owner turned their kit into an Airbnb. They outfitted the space with a bed that doubles as a sitting area, two accent chairs, a coffee table, a kitchenette, and a separate bathroom.
