Brandon Boyd has revealed that the new Incubus album is complete — but fans may not hear it right away.

During a Friday, March 21 interview with the German publication Flux FM and translated from German by ThePRP, the band's lead vocalist and guitarist explained why he's hesitant to release a new Incubus album.

Boyd, 49, said they had finished their new music "a little over two months ago."

"It’s like mastered, it’s mixed, it’s just ready to go. We’re working on the artwork for it," he said.

Added Boyd: "The sad part about finishing the album in this day and age is that, as much as I would like to just put it out; I would love to put it out tomorrow, and we could put it out tomorrow, but it would get just lost in the shuffle of the internet."

He said that Incubus will likely release their album in October, with a single coming out before then.

"Even with all of the setup that we’re gonna do, it most likely will still get lost in the internet," Boyd continued, laughing. "Because it’s the internet."

He compared "putting out an album onto the internet in this day and age to introducing a new star in the sky."

Boyd said it was a "special thing," but alluded it to getting lost in the shuffle.

"You know, we like sent something into the universe. So personally, I think it’s a really great record, and I’m really proud of it, and all of us in the band are really proud of it. We had a wonderful time recording it," he said.

Boyd noted that working on this new album "happened really fast," "which is always a good sign for us, When an album comes together, like quickly, it means that we have gotten into a flow state of sorts."

Incubus' current members include Chris Kilmore on turntables and keyboards, guitarist Mike Einziger, drummer Jose Pasillas, Boyd and Nicole Row on bass and keyboards. The band released their latest album in 2017, titled 8.

Upcoming for Incubus are shows throughout South America in late March and April before they head to Europe in late April and return to North America for several concerts from May through July in cities such as Nashville, Atlantic City, Toronto and Los Angeles.
