Chelsea Handler Says She Shared Drugs with 'Everyone' at Oscars Afterparty but Was Not 'Irresponsible About It'

Chelsea Handler is defending her use of "natural drugs."

During an appearance on Thursday, March 27's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the best-selling author, 50, discussed being a fan of "micro-dosing."

"I love drugs … micro-dosing especially, people have this stigmatization around drugs that I find very annoying. Drugs can help so many people," Handler told the host.

"I'm not talking about street drugs like cocaine and heroin, those are bad, while they can be fun... they're bad," she said. "I'm talking about like psilocybin and LSD and natural drugs that actually can, you know, they treat depression and they help people have more fun."

The comedian said she's not interested in taking too many, telling Kimmel, "But micro-dose, not like where you're off your rocker and hallucinating."

"Like, say a macro-dose is like 500 milligrams. I'm talking about taking 50 milligrams of like MDMA or LSD," she added.

Handler attended this year's Vanity Fair Oscars party, and she told Kimmel she was happy to share at the star-studded soirée.

"I share it with everybody. I love giving people drugs! You should have seen me at the Vanity Fair party, the Oscars, oh my God I was giving it out to everyone I was like, 'Take this you're going to have a great time' and people were like, 'Okay,' " the TV personality said.

"I mean I get their medical background, you know what I mean? I'm not irresponsible about it," she added.

Handler also addressed taking LSD during her recent 50th birthday celebrations in February.

The stand-up star celebrated the major milestone on Feb. 25 by skiing down a mountain in nothing but a red bikini, with a large group of women also sporting bathing suits in the snow. 

As Kimmel questioned whether skiing after micro-dosing LSD was "dangerous," Handler insisted it just "heightens whatever experience you're having."

"If you're having an outdoor experience like this year on my birthday... I ski always in a bikini on my birthday. It was my 50th this year, I celebrated with like a lot of women," she said.

"I celebrated with about 30 other women and we all skied in our bathing suits, we all took LSD, maybe not some of the people if they're mothers and they don't want to be called out on Jimmy Kimmel — let's say not everybody took it," Handler joked, insisting micro-dosing "just enhances the day, whatever day you're having, it just makes it better."

"If you're having a great experience, you're going to have an extra great experience," she told Kimmel, admitting she'd even handed edibles out to flight attendants before.

Handler's comments come after the release of her seventh book, I’ll Have What She’s Having, last month, in which she speaks about sexting a governor, having psychedelics with strangers in Spain, and more.
