The woman explained, however, that there wasn't "any extreme moaning or super egregious sounds"

A woman says her roommate's mom scolded her for having a boy in their college apartment.

The 19-year-old wrote in a post on Reddit's "Am I The A------?" forum that one of her roommates, who lives directly next to her, recently had her mother stay with them for the weekend.

"Tonight, I had a guy over and nothing crazy happened, [but] around 5 a.m. we started to fool around," the woman said.

Then detailing that the roommate's mother heard them, the Redditor stated that the woman "bangs on my door and says, 'Can y'all shut the f--- up.' "

"Mind you, we aren’t making much noise, all we are really doing is making out, no sex," she continued.

Turning to the comments section, the woman asked if she was in the wrong for having a "guy over and making noise" while her roommate's mom was nearby.

"I would let the roommate know her mom isn't welcome to stay at the apartment if she is that disrespectful. She's a grown a-- woman and can get a hotel," one person said, arguing that the roommate's mom was in the wrong.

Another person added, "Girl, it’s your apartment too. If you weren’t out here summoning demons with the moans of the damned, then her mom needs to chill."

"Like, ma’am… this is college, not a monastery. If she wanted total silence at 5 a.m., maybe a college apartment wasn’t the best weekend getaway," they continued.

"If you don't like where you're staying, get a hotel. The woman forgot only one of them was her daughter so she needs to get a hotel or shut up. I'd have gone to the roommate and told her that her houseguest needs to stay else where if she can't be polite to the residents of the house," one other person wrote.

Others, however, thought that something else might be up with why the mother chose to acknowledge the noise.

"Personally, I think your roommate has been complaining to her mom about you making noise, but she didn’t have the balls to say it, so mommy dearest stepped in," someone wrote.

Another agreed, adding: "Mom is there a couple of days [while] the roommate has to keep living there. It makes sense she'd complain to someone else who can be 'the bad guy' and not suffer the awkwardness until the semester/lease is up."

In an update to her post, the woman further explained, "Yes, we were probably a tad bit louder than I had originally thought, but there definitely wasn’t any extreme moaning or super egregious sounds (no bed or walls shaking)."

"I was mostly taken aback by how she approached me. But it’s on me for making noise," she continued. "From now on, I will definitely be more cautious of bringing guests when my roommate has her parents."
