Not a lot of details have been shared about Hugh Jackman's newest film. However, he's just given fans a taste of what they can expect from his latest role, including how he looks.

On March 25, the Academy Award nominee took to Instagram to show his followers what he's been up to while filming The Death of Robin Hood in Northern Ireland.

Before sharing multiple scenic stills of his time on set, Jackman, 56, who stars in the film as the iconic Robin Hood, included a sped-up video documenting his transformation for the character, in the process revealing how long his facial hair has gotten.

The beginning of the clip shows him with a nearly chin-length long gray 'stache that a hairstylist shaves off with a razor, revealing a barefaced Jackman underneath. He also had another pro work on his hair, the stylist scissoring off strands on various parts of his head.

"There is a depth, a camaraderie and a spirit to the entire cast and crew of The Death of Robin Hood. Thank you for this wonderful experience. It is an honor and a privilege. Thank you Ireland!!! Your beauty knows no bounds," Jackman captioned the post.

It's not clear whether the star grew out his mustache for the role and if him razoring it off was for, say, a different sequence in the film, or if the move indicates that Jackman will be clean-shaven for the entire project. However, it seems like he's been wearing it around for quite some now as Saul Lodges, an accommodation in Northern Ireland that Jackman vacationed in while filming, posted a selfie of Jackman with his long facial hair earlier this month.

The Death of Robin Hood is directed by Michael Sarnoski, whose worked on A Quiet Place: Day One and Pig and will be distributed by A24, per Variety. The cast will also include Jodie Comer. Per ScreenRant, Sarnoski has teased that Jackman's performance will "go beyond what people are expecting."

Jackman has caused quite the commotion before for his handsome hair, like when he decided to revert back to his sexy Wolverine cut in July 2023. His bolder looks have equally gotten a rise out of others, especially that one time in 2014 he decided to fully commit to a dark mustache and goatee.
