KISS' legacy is living on through two of the band members' kids!

Since December 2024, Evan Stanley and Nick Simmons — sons of Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons — have been sharing posts on Instagram of the pair making music together.

On Friday, Feb. 21, the duo appeared to confirm in a post on the social media platform that they'd recorded an album's worth of material.

"One song turned into 10 real quick," Evan, 30, and Nick, 36, captioned an Instagram post, alongside a photo of the former leaning on the latter's shoulder.

"We’ve grown up together. We’re essentially brothers, so we always thought we'd probably play together for fun at some point," Simmons tells PEOPLE of their collaboration.

He continues: "But recently Evan picked up a guitar when we were hanging out, and we started humming some harmonies, and it was kind of an unexpected, magic moment. It all just snowballed from there.

He confirmed to PEOPLE that they're currently "in talks to put something out together."

On Sunday, Feb. 23, the pair shared a clip of them playing a folk-rock song they wrote together with a friend and singing in harmony.

"Wrote this one with our buddy Jacob yesterday," he wrote.

Earlier this month, Evan also shared a selfie on Instagram with Nick, which appeared to tease a collaboration between the pair.

"Stanley / Simmons 2025," he wrote alongside the post.

Back in December 2024, Evan and Nick shared a video of them covering Simon & Garfunkel's 1964 classic "The Sound of Silence" with the caption, "he garfunkeled my simon till my hall got oates," appearing to nod to the direction they were taking with their sound.

PEOPLE has reached out to Evan and Nick for additional comment.

Meanwhile, Evan and Nick's rockstar fathers are staying busy.

In January, Gene, 75, announced his 2025 tour dates with his solo band.

Per Ultimate Classic Rock, he's set to perform 19 dates throughout April and May, making stops in California, Florida, New Jersey, New York and Texas. The tour is set to kick-off on April 3 at the House of Blues in Anaheim, Calif., before wrapping on May 24 in Houston, Texas.

In November 2024, Paul, 73, opened up to the Daily Times about the possibility of reuniting with KISS again for another one-off show following the band's End of the Road farewell tour in December 2023.

"Anything's possible," the KISS frontman told the publication. "KISS is so far from over, though KISS as we know it is done. But having our hands and our ideas and our fingers in what KISS continues as makes all the sense in the world. So, I look forward to whatever comes next without knowing what comes next. But I'm open to it all."
