Lady Gaga is in a trance from Lucy Dacus covering one of her Mayhem songs.

In a BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge session, the boygenuis bandmember recorded a haunting cover of Gaga's "Abracadabra." In response, Gaga, 39, praised Dacus, 29, for capturing the song's essence.

"😭I LOVE this so much wow captures the purity of the song," the 14-time Grammy winner wrote on a Wednesday, April 2 TikTok video of Dacus singing the pre-chorus.

"With a haunting dance, now you’re both in a trance/ It’s time to cast your spell on the night," she croons in the pre-chorus, giving the song a folksy feel, much different than the dance-pop beat of Gaga's original rendition.

TikTok users noticed the shift in style and were obsessed. "Abracadabra (extra witchy version) 🧙🏼‍♀️🧙🏼‍♀️🧙🏼‍♀️," one fan said. "very stevie nicks witchy moment i love," another wrote. A third commented that they "suddenly need it to be Halloween."

Dacus, who released Forever Is A Feeling on March 28, shared a screenshot of the TikTok interaction on X, writing, "I'm shaking." Fans were just as excited by the interaction between Gaga and Dacus. "COLLAB WHEN," one user asked. "Now put it on streaming, tysm," another suggested.

The "Best Guess" singer recently spoke with PEOPLE about another interaction she had with a fellow musician — Taylor Swift. Dacus confirmed that she is name-dropped on Swift's title track to The Tortured Poets Department.

"Sometimes, I wonder if you're gonna screw this up with me / But you told Lucy you'd kill yourself if I ever leave," Swift, 35, sings in the track. "I think it's fair game to say 'yes,' " Dacus said of her shout-out. "She actually texted me and asked for my approval."

She also said it was "so crazy" to hear her name mentioned in The Tortured Poets Department. "This is the first Taylor record to come out since meeting her, and listening to a friend's record feels so much different than a stranger's record."

"It was definitely an experience," Dacus added.
