During the Monday, March 24, episode of The Voice, the Canadian crooner pulled a fast one and stole Simone Marijic from Team Kelsea after she wasn't chosen in the battle round. For her battle, Marijic was up against Iris Herrera and the duo performed Lizzy McAlpine's "Ceilings." Afterward, when it came time for Ballerini, 31, to decide on the winner, she went with Herrera. "I chose Iris because she really knows her voice and she knows how to use it to show how unique she is," said the "Peter Pan" singer. "Every piece of advice that you've imparted upon me will stay with me because I don't feel like I've shown everything that I can do yet," she said to Ballerini, who ran up to the stage to give her a hug. "Simone absolutely deserved that steal and I'm really happy it was with Michael. I feel like she has a really cool, classic element to her voice that Michael can help finesse," Ballerini said in an interview. Coaches John Legend and Adam Levine teased the "Home" singer for his timing. Daly added: "You waited so long." In an interview afterward, he revealed he was hoping Marijic would become available for a steal. "She's young, she's obviously got a great work ethic. I think literally, I've got a dark horse on my team that could be the winner of The Voice," the "Feeling Good" singer said.
