It is a shame that you can't just listen to the previous DayZ Washington journal on audio without my screen being on. It's like a podcast. You should be able to turn your screen off at night and listen to it. It but as soon as you turn the screen off with the C-SPAN app all audio and video just stops

Thanks for letting us know of this issue, Ross. You should be able to listen to a VOD program with the screen off. Please go to the "More" section and click on "Technical Support". Scroll down to the bottom and click on the "this form" link and give us more details of what's happening and our tech team will work to fix this for you.

The content is great but live videos will regularly stop playing with a quick notification about the timing of the event having changed. Definitely a subpar UX. Inability to play when the screen locks is a negative, but that may be an Android issue and not app. Figuring out when videos will automatically undock based on what you do with switching apps can be tricky. ETA I think the dev misunderstood the timing issue. While watching a live event, the stream will actually stop with that error.

We're sorry you're having trouble, John. Picture in picture was launched on Android, so please make sure you have the most up to date version for that to work. In terms of notifications on the timing of events - unfortunately that's the nature of the news business at times, we do our best to update ASAP when the timing changes to avoid problems.

Fantastic app that is easy to use and has an incredibly easy to navigate layout. One big frustration with this app is that there is no way to stream video from my phone to my TV like with other video app out there. I don't want to have to be staring at my phone at all times when watching Washington journal, for example. It would allow me and other viewers to freedom to navigate and watch segments much easier.

Happy to hear you're enjoying the app & finding it easy to use. C-SPAN's journalism is possible b/c of the financial support through subscriber fees from the cable & satellite industry, so the only way currently to watch C-SPAN on TV is through a cable/satellite subscription. Their commitment allows us to extend the programming to you via the app.
