The Sociopath Amongst Us

What you are about to read is another post borrowed from ATR Alliance Facebook page. It is about the workplace Sociopath and/or Narcissist from on high that we must deal with every day.

These types aren't like when George W Bush said, "You are either with us or against us." No, these people are worse.

It's squashing all dissent ruthelessly and making those dissenters examples for others to scare the others into submission.

Independent thought or questioning is not allowed. Either by squashing all the thought and questioning punitively or by manipulation. Manipulating all facets of the work place to the point that anything and everything has to go through the Sociopath and/or Narcissist.

Manipulating others into thinking that they are part of the "inner circle." These types have no clue to how much they are being manipulated and how far up the ass of the Sociopath and/or Narcissist they reside for they have drank the Kool-Aid and have turned over their minds and acquiesced to working in fear.

But these are just the types the sociopath and/or narcissist wants. These "inner circle" types never see it coming. The day they fall out of favor with the Sociopath and/or Narcissist. It hits them like a ton of bricks and they are soon like a chicken running without it's head. Flailing for someone to help them when they themselves were the first to throw a colleague under the bus.

The Sociopath and/or Narcissist believes that only they have the answers, they have the knowledge, and they can control everything. They can't. Their head ain't any bigger than anyone else.

But yes, the Sociopath and/or Narcissist is not all they are cracked up to be. The swagger the evil, the lack of empathy shows how frightened they really are. Are scared they are. How insecure they are.

It's simple if the Sociopath and/or Narcissistis secure within themselves it would not act the way it does. It will show human emotion and empathy. It will not control all there is to control. It will think of others and want others to feel safe and do their jobs.

We here at SBSB present for you reading enjoyment, the workplace Sociopath and/or Narcissist juxtaposed with "Big Time," off the 1986 album  "So" by Peter Gabriel.

I'm on my way I'm making it, huh!
I've got to make it show yeah, hey!
So much larger than life
I'm gonna watch it growing

The most frightening and dangerous workplace bully of all. They are predators that have zero empathy for anything or anyone. They are completely without conscience. They do not process emotions they way you do and they do not understand your emotions. However, they are highly adept at manipulating the emotions of others in order to get them to do what they want.

The place where I come from is a small town
They think so small, they use small words
But not me, I'm smarter than that,
I worked it out
I'll be stretching my mouth to let those big words come right out
I've had enough, I'm getting out
to the city, the big big city
I'll be a big noise with all the big boys, so much stuff I will own
And I will pray to a big god, as I kneel in the big church

Sociopaths are often very intelligent, charming, even charismatic with powerful verbal skills of persuasion. If you are up against a sociopath you will not likely win. They are ruthless and relentless.

Big time, I'm on my way I'm making it, big time, oh yes
Big time, I've got to make it show yeah, big time
Big time, so much larger than life
Big time, I'm gonna watch it growing, big time
Ho ohh ohh, oh oh, ho ohh ohh, oh ohhh

They do not accept or care about the consequences of their actions. They gravitate to positions of authority and power and are able to attain executive levels of management. They will surround themselves with sycophants who have been put into their positions by this workplace bully. But because many of them are promoted because of their submission to the bully and lack the skills they should have they are forever beholden to the sociopath. He will then use that to get them do do the dirty work and engage in attacks against his target.

My parties have all the big names and I greet them with the widest smile
Tell them how my life is one big adventure
and always they're amazed when I show them 'round my house to my bed
I had it made like a mountain rage with a snow white pillow for my big fat head
And my heaven will be a big heaven, and I will walk through the front door

People are regarded as objects that serve a purpose. Once they are not able to serve a purpose for the sociopath they are discarded like yesterdays trash.

Big Time, I'm on my way I'm making it, big time, Huh!
Big time, I've got to make it show yeah, big time
Big time, so much larger than life
Big time, I'm gonna watch it growing, big time
Big time, my car is getting bigger Big time, my house is getting bigger
Big time, my eyes are getting bigger
and my mouth
Big time, my belly's getting bigger
Big time, and my bank account
Big time, look at my circumstance

It is a mistake to underestimate the lengths to which a sociopath will go, the deception they will engage in or how little you matter to them. If you are being stalked by a sociopath your best option is to get as far away from them and their influence as you can. In a word, they are "evil".

Be wary and careful out there.

Benefits Of Ass Kissing

There was this colleague I had in my first full year teaching. Nice enough lady. Except there was one problem. She was major ass kisser. I mean MAJOR. We both taught the same grade. I was doing it without a net. No mentor, no direction, no materials, no nothing. She on the other hand had a plethora of stuff. But there was something askew.

My students learned. My students were challenged. Hers weren't. My classroom looked like a mess, hers didn't. She had nice, I mean really nice bulletin boards, and great stuff hanging from all over the room. Me? Eh, it was OK, but I busted my ass each and everyday.

Not only did her students not learn, but she was a nasty, mean person to the kids. I mean really nasty. She would drag kids off the line, out of their seats, down the halls. She would scream at them. I mean really nasty screaming. But it was OK, she had gorgeous bulletin boards. And she kissed ass.

On the other hand though I never came out and disagreed with the principal, I gave off the "aura" of I am going to do it my way. That I know better. And I did, for my students.

So what point am I trying to make here? If she and at the time had the same amount of seniority in the building, and there were layoffs, but not under last in, last out, who do you think would have been laid off?

This is the root of the problem. Bloomberg, Klein, Kellerman, all the EDiots want to do away with last in, first out in the event of layoffs. To go by merit. But look at this woman I had taught with. She couldn't teach. But she gave a wonderful perception that she could teach.

Principals like the ass kissers. They are the only ones who say the emperor is clothed.

Extended Day

Extended Day for Mrs AK consists of lazily bringing the students who are staying back to her classroom with the requisite “long bathroom break” that she so selflessly does for the students. Once inside the classroom the students do their homework. That is if they are not helping Mrs AK clean the class. Students start getting ready, or packing up approximately 10 minutes before they are to start walking to the exit doors and in fact this walk has been timed longer than the Bataan Death March. So the students in her charge are probably effectively using about 10 percent of the allotted time of Extended Day to actually do anything education related.

My Bad! Been Busy!

So now that it is Saturday how has the first week of school gone? Well as the old saying goes, the more things change the more it stays the same. Or as I like to say, just more of the same bullshit!

What can go wrong on the first day of school? Not much. Everyone is on their best behavior. Teachers even put on a smile when the see the sociopathic students. In fact we have one at our school which I will tell about later, but even he was a little angel today.

Now the proverbial fecal matter is being lined up to throw into the fan. The sociopath who I shall henceforth refer to is "Frank". Frank is psychotic. His mother is useless, the father is God knows where, and the older brother who he worships is in all probability a gang banger. This is Frank's third year in the school, and the first two have been very eventful. Now I won't go into details for fear of giving away Frank's true identity, but let's just say that in every student you can find something good. Frank there is nothing good at all. For some reason ACS has never been called. Frank bullies, hits, and threatens not only children smaller than him, threatens teachers, but generally does not care about anything. And the thing is the boy is bright as hell, but he knows how to manipulate. This boy should be put in a SEIS 7 setting in which there is a small roster and a larger amount of staff.

Now last year he behaved in his homeroom. Know why? He was scared shitless of his teacher. Still was a psycho to the clusters, but his sphincter was tight in the homeroom. Now this year irony of ironies he is not with the same teacher, but in a class with one of the laziest, under qualified, no class room management teachers ever. I shall call her Mrs Ass Kisser, or Mrs AK for short. Mrs AK has no self respect at all. She will fawn all over her principal and do whatever his necessary for herself. She acts as if she actually cares about the students, but she does not. She will not go the extra yard for Administrators unless something is in it for her. Other teachers know not to speak about anything confidentially to or in front of her because she will run like a child to the principal. And now she is stuck with Frank. She is in for a very long year, and she has no support for anyone to help her with Frank. She will never ask for help because by doing so it will show the level of her incompetence. She is doomed and so unfortunately is the rest of her students to Frank's sociopathy.
