So Unity/UFT has a new pal in E4E's Michael Loeb. That's nice. It's always nice to have a pal. But a pal is not one who had knives out to destroy your profession and the teachers one claims to represent.

I will give Unity/UFT a kudo. They have yet to throw ATRUnitys completely under the bus. That day may come. They have come close. Unity/UFT have enabled the crap, either by design or neglect, ATR's are suffering through. But however small, ATR's, still have some voice. Maybe I am being kind?

But why pal around with E4E's Michael Loeb and allow him to play a prominent role in a DA or any type of UFT activities? Why would Unity/UFT be pals with someone that wants to destroy the careers up to 2,000 members who have done the pal no harm?

Unity/UFT has a short memory. Let's go over something. Michael Loeb no matter how you slice it is a card carrying member of Educators 4 Excellence. E4E's existence is predicated on destroying the teaching profession from within, whilst funded and supported by, Bill Gates, The Walton Family, Whitney Tilson and all the corporatist edtards and ediots out there.

Sure, let let the E4E wolf into the UFT hen house. Of course, nothing can go wrong.

The Crack Team came across what we here at SBSB consider nothing more than a death warrant for ATRs written as a policy paper back in May 2014. In essence E4E supports (Read it here on page 7)....

"Two hiring cycles strikes a balance between providing a fair opportunity for teachers to find a new teaching position and at the same time provides schools and the system the autonomy they need," said Jonathan Schleifer, executive director.

Yes, I know, that was written four years ago. Doesn't matter if it was four years or four hundred. This was, and still is, E4E's official policy. Yet, not only is E4E invited to the dance it gets to dance with, and probably go home with, Unity/UFT.

Yet, the "Loyal Opposition," MORE/New Action, continues to get shot down and shat upon at every Exec Board meeting and DA. MORE/New Action have have time and time again put their money where their mouth is. Whether or not you agree with their tactics they have been there time and time again for the teachers and communities of New York City.

If MORE/New Action are the "Loyal Opposition," what then is Michael Loeb and E4E? The "Disloyal Pal"?

E4E has shifted gears and basically put on some lipstick and tried to make itself look pretty. But lipstick on the E4E pig still makes it an E4E pig.

It is time that E4E lay down it's cards and show it's colors. It is time to renounce and retract it's statement of May 2014 concerning ATRs. It is time for Michael Loeb at the next DA to publicly announce his support for ATRs and denounce Unity/UFT for the way ATRs are being mishandled across the city.

No one will be holding their breath.

The resolution described below never came up at the meeting as there was a 6PM adjournment. No one from E4E handed out the reso but a stack was left on the UFT lit table, which we are always told is a no-no - they say they only want official UFT lit and if we try to leave Ed Notes or MORE lit there we get a hassle or even an attempt to throw the lit away.

This goes back to a DA in which an E4E hack, Michael Loeb, science teacher and chapter leader at the The Urban Institute Of Mathematics, put forth a resolution about restorative justice before the assembly and was received in a favorable light by the Priests presiding over the DA.

I have written about Michael Loeb in the past (here and here). But it appears that Michael is nothing more than a wolf in sheep's clothing. What or who is Michael Loeb?

Michael is a big macha (He's the treasurer!) in the E4E hierarchy as we can see here in the financials for 2016 of E4E. Does Unity/UFT know about this? Do his colleagues at UIM know about this?

Michael also seems to have passed muster with Unity/UFT in that New York Teacher felt Michael was a go to guy for a quote. Maybe the UFT knows of Michael's loyalties? Maybe it doesn't.

I am sure Campbell Brown and her crew at The 74 are well aware of Michael's loyalties. Michael was featured prominently in an article on Campbell Brown's teacher hating website.

One can question Michael's loyalties when a colleague of his at UIM that served our country admirably in the Marine Corps was besmirched. Funny how Michael wasn't quoted in this fray. (At press time The Crack Team is not sure if Michael was the CL at UIM at the time).

Heck, Michael make one wonder about the truth behind E4E's financials when he posted this plea for monies needed for E4E (Yes that is Michael doing his best Les Nessman imitation).

Michael claims (boldface mine)....

....E4E, with our over 10,000 New York and 16,000 national teachers, we take action to improve public education by meeting with elected officials, running for union leadership positions, and advocating for our education policy proposals to improve local schools. 

But what is worse, is Michael has no problem posting photos of his students at UIM and personal information such as names on his personal Twitter account (Find it yourself. I will not give Twitter handle nor link to it). For shame Michael. Putting identifying information of a student on your personal Twitter account as well as students faces.

A lot has been said in the last few days or so of CNN's Cambpell Brown, and wife of MichelleRheeFirst lackey Dan Senor, and her column in the Wall Street Journal claiming that teacher's unions, in particular the UFT, protects sexual predators. Nothing, we all know, could be further from the truth.

More disturbing is that a fellow teacher and UFT member (both terms used quite loosely) and Educators4Excllence bon vivant, Michael Loeb, without thinking, without any concern at the true nature of adult sexual predators decides to thoughtlessly and sycophantically speak out in support of, not only Campbell Brown, but of New York State Senator Stephen Saland's bill. A bill which will give final say so to the fate of teachers accused unjustly of predation to Chancellor Walcott which means it is actually Uncle Mike as the final arbiter.

Michael Loeb, a middle school teacher in the Bronx and UFT member, calls this a "horrible situation," telling me "if you keep these people in the classroom, you are demeaning our profession."

Really, Michael?  It demeans our profession? Wonderful how Michael states the obvious. Where was Michael when my wife as a young girl of 4-6 had a male friend of her family have her sit on his lap while he had an erection and had her rub back and forth until he ejaculated?  That is true sexual predation. Not what most of these accusations of been. A teacher making inappropriate and stupid comments, or a teacher being falsely accused of true sexual misconduct or sexual verbiage.

Michael Loeb still supports his union but says it "treats teachers like interchangeable widgets"—defending all teachers no matter what they have done.

Interchangeable widgets? 

The 14th amendment clearly and succinctly states;

nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

Michael, do you have an issue with the United State Constitution? Do have a problem with the American way of life?

As much as this man hurt and damaged my wife, he is allowed the right to counsel, the right to trial, a right to face his accuser, the right to impartial jury, a right to appeal. My wife, nor I, can be judge, jury, and executioner. These are the ideals of this country. This is what we believe in, what teachers you work in believe, and what our union believes in. It is called due process. Learn it. Live it. Deal with it.

Michael, there is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man ...

Michael, what would happen one day, and I hope this day will never happen, that you are accused of something as heinous as molesting a child? What is it you would do?

a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity.

The first thing Michale would do is run, not walk, to the UFT. "Help me, please," will be your cry. "I didn't do it, I was railroaded, what I said was taken out of context, I was never there, etc..." Yes Michael would want that union there for him.

It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition,

If Michael got arrested, he would want to make sure he is in protective custody, he would want a union attorney, he would want DUE PROCESS.

and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge.

Even if Michael were not to be charged criminally he could still face termination through the 3020a process. Would Michael refuse a strong defense in his case? Would Michael, if exonerated or even if charges not fully founded accept the arbitrator's finding of a fine and being sent back to the classroom? Or would he ask the arbitrator to terminate him?

This is the dimension of imagination.

Would Michael acquiesce to the whim of Sock Puppet Walcott and Uncle Mike? Noooooooo. He would whine and moan and bitch like the little boy that he is . "No, not me, not me! I'm innocent!!!" Too bad Michael, you made your bed, the roosters have come home to roost. All you need is.....

Rod Serling to come out from behind a doorway to explain that a man who sucks up to to others, a man without any values, a man without any independent though, a man that conforms, a man that wishes to hurt others, will only find himself on the losing side in The Twilight Zone.

Be careful of what you wish Michael.

Groggy, and still yet to have my morning cup of coffee, I signed onto Facebook. Suddenly, I was wide awake. Another lie, another piece of propaganda by the crew at MichelleRheeFirst.com. I put my reading glasses on and started reading. Some drone, some hack, some lackey named Michael Loeb blubbered forth on how change would bring teachers respect.

Michael Loeb? Where have I heard that name before. I immediately called an emergency meeting of the crack team here at SBSB. Whilst still in my robe and reeking of morning breath I asked them point blank where have I heard that name before. Immediately, our college intern Harvey told me that Michael Loeb had been mentioned in a previous blog post. At this point, I sent Harvey to get some coffee and I scoured the archives.

Alas, it was here that I quoted third year teacher, and George Washington University grad, and all around stooge Michale Loeb as whining that he is just a "cog in the machine." Blech!! Why did I have to wake up to this?

I really don't wish to get into all the mind numbing, parroting of talking points that Mikey spewed forth. Been beaten to death. One thing is bugging me. Really bugging me.

Mikey quoted President Zero as claiming;

"that one of the biggest impacts on a child's lifetime success comes from teachers."

Mikey goes on to say;

"Studies show that President Obama is correct: the most influential factor in a child's school education is his or her teacher."

Hey Mikey got Zero's words mixed up. Zero said "...one of the most," but Mikey uttered, "the most influential." Since Mikey wrote it and probably thinks he even knows more than Zero we will stay on his words.

Mikey is wrong. Mikey is 25 years old. How does he know what goes on in life. It is the parent, then the village or community the child is raised in, then the school or the teacher. My son in his February report card slipped in some grades. There was a major change at home, I was not on top of him as I usually am, and he had slippage. IT WAS MY RESPONSIBILITY! But Mikey, now to tell you a story so pull up a chair.

I started speaking at the normal age. My brother was born when I was 2 3/4. I didn't speak again until 4 years old. We were living in Flushing at the time and I went to one of the preeminent speech therapists in Manhattan. I had problems. Trouble with L's, oi, or, I lisped, I was a mess. Now, the following I don't remember, but my mother shared it with me many times.

At the initial consultation the speech therapist, Dr Penn told my mother that I will never be able to read well. Hell, this was 1968, what did they know then. My mother left the office crying, but determined that she was to prove Dr Penn wrong.

I remember sitting on the bed with her reading the New York Times. Maybe I was 4 or 5, I truly don't recall. But I do remember her teaching me the sounds, the letters, the words. I have a faint memory of reading something about President Nixon. But if it was not for her, if it was not for her refusing to accept a diagnosis, who knows what would have been?

Mikey, you are a 25 year old child. Your life experiences are teeny tiny. Have a child. You will see. You will be the most important factor in your child's education as I am in mine. It is time for you to think as an independent person, not as some cog. Surely, this is not how you were taught at George Washington University.
