I feel sorry for Christine Rubino. Not only has she been suspended without pay for two years, financially hanging on by the thinnest of threads, but worse, if she had only been an administrator her mistake of posting a message out of frustration on Facebook concerning her students would have been at best ignored, at worst, a slap on the wrist.

If Christine was a hot shot former superintendent of Washington DC schools like Michelle Rhee, she would be able to get away with duct taping the mouths of 1st grade students then laughing about it years later. Sadly, Christine is just a darn damn fine teacher that truly made a mistake and feel remorse.

Perhaps if Christine was a former principal from Wichita KS, hmm, like Dr Mychael Willon and was caught in some lewd and lascivious act alone in a Wichita KS adult bookstore then went on to get a mail order PhD and eventually get hired by the DOE as a network leader and then promoted to a job within Tweed, Christine would not have to be selling her house to pay for the legal bills and to put food on the table for her children.

How about if Christine was an assistant principal at my school, PS 154 and Christine dragged students down the hall, dragged a student from the yard to inside the school, and dragged and bruised a 9 year old girl like Derrick Townsend did Christine would have no worries now. Like Derrick Townsend, Christine's only penalty would be a desk job in Committee for Special Education 2 in The Bronx. But, right now Christine needs to look to her parents, who are in their golden years, for support.

Maybe if Christine were the principal at Bronxdale High School and she could have bragged, like principal John Chase Jr had, her deviant sexual fantasies with inanimate objects. Of course Christine has no reason to do that, nor would she ever share such  things as the perverted principal had, but Christine would have gotten a slap on the wrist like John Chase Jr did. But sadly, Christine is looking at an uncertain future.

But most disturbing, most curious, is that the person who set this off, Principal Jose Maldanado-Rivera of the Columbia Secondary School, who through his negligence, through his in competence, through sheer stupidity, allowed Nicole Suriel age 12 to die. To die a horrible death, a preventable death, a hollow death. All because this man, Maldanado-Rivera just was too lazy and too stupid to make sure there were permission slips for the students and that all students were capable swimmers.

Christine Rubino never would have done something like putting a child in danger. Christine Rubino is not only too smart, but too caring, too loving, and too much of a human being to ever not be vigilant when it comes to a student's safety.

But, for one mistake, a mistake that Christine has shown true remorse, she not only was fired originally, but upon further review, suspended without pay for two years, but has lost or about to lose everything. This is not only unfair, but an indictment on how screwed up, how pathological the NYC DOE has become.Don't think any of these administrators have shown remorse. Only when caught have they.

It is time to hold the looking glass over administrators everywhere and finally put the onus on them for how dysfunctional education is now in NYC. It is time for administrators to stop being held to such a low standard and start being held accountable. This pogrom on teachers must end now.

I really hope I am not coming across as beating a dead horse. If I am, I apologize, but something is really bothering me.

Right now a friend of mine is sitting in the new fangled Rubber Room accused of corporal punishment. Just one allegation. A bullshit allegation. That is all I can share presently. As of now, I can't disclose any more details.

Now here is where it might seem as if I am beating the proverbial dead horse. As many readers of my blog know I started out writing this blog in August 2008 to keep a journal as to the goings on at my school, PS 154 in the Bronx. I wrote extensively about an assistant principal at the time that I named Numb Nuts. Several months ago I shared his name, Derrick Townsend on the blog, and the fact I went on FOX 5 to out him as a serial physical abuser of students. Back in April when Chaz was being lambasted in the Daily News, I compared the hypocrisy of the DOE vis a vis teachers and administrators. Here is right I had written;

On Monday, January 22^nd, 2007 during the extended day program, I heard a commotion outside my office, Room 219, in the hallway. I stepped to the doorway of my office and saw that XXXXX was struggling with Mr Townsend. Mr Townsend appeared to be attempting to get XXXXX inside his office. Mr Townsend then took XXXXX’s right arm, and pulled it behind and up XXXXXX’s back as he was doing this; he slammed XXXXX into his closed office door with XXXXX’s face and chest bearing the brunt of the impact.

On Thursday, January 25, 2007 at approximately 12:20 PM the 3^rd grade was in the auditorium to watch a movie before they ate lunch. XXXXXX had come down with his class, and was not cooperating. XXXXXX had decided to sit in the 2^nd or 3^rd row of the far right (if facing the stage) set of seats. I was standing at the back of the auditorium, and saw Mr Townsend approach XXXXXX. I do not know what was said at first, but Mr Townsend was soon getting very animated. Mr Townsend then grabbed XXXXXX by his upper left arm, and pulled him out of his seat violently. He dragged XXXXXX up the aisle to the last row of seats, and threw XXXXXX into the aisle seat.

   On Tuesday, January 30, 2007, at approximately 12:20 the 3rd grade was in the auditorium to watch a movie before they ate lunch. XXXXXXX was talking to XXXXXX in the last row

   Of seats on the right side of the auditorium. Mr Townsend asked XXXXXX several times come sit with his class. XXXXXX refused, and Mr Townsend walked up to the last row. Mr Townsend walked down the row, grabbed XXXXXX, by his upper arm, yanked him up, and dragged XXXXX into the aisle.

WOW! So did anything happen? Before you answer, think for a moment. What would have happened if pretend Townsend was a a teacher not an AP. Yep, you are right. This was reported to OSI. OSI kicked it back to the principal, the same principal that had just hired him one month earlier, to lead the investigation. The investigation was unfounded. Why? Because in Cynthia Ballard's reports to OSI she blamed the students. Described them as troublemakers and discredited them. There was no recourse.

Flash forward to February 13, 2009. Townsend in a fit of pique because a 3rd grade girl would not follow his directions after sharing with Townsend that she was touched inappropriately by a boy, yanks her out of her seat by the arm, drags her through the classroom, down the hall, all in front of 50 students and at least several adults and leaves bruises on her arm.

The funny thing is Townsend had about 6 open corporal punishment allegations against him that year (2008-2009). One for dragging a 3rd grade boy a good fifty yards from the playground into the school whilst tearing the boys shirt in the meantime, dragging a 1st grader down the hall, punishing another boy who misbehaved at lunch by having the boy clean the cafeteria.

The Daily News with seemingly nothing better to do, has taken a course over the last several days to do Uncle Mike's bidding and besmirch teachers who have been accused of inappropriate contact with students. The News whines that these teachers, when afforded their rights under the United States Constitution were either found not guilty, had statements and evidence thrown out, or given penalties other than being terminated by a impartial arbitrator.

Which brings me to the defense of my pal, Chaz the Blogger, henceforth known as Eric Chasanoff. Eric, has been raked over the coals by the Daily News. Not only for coming out as he has on his blog, but for The Daily News misrepresenting the truth. Thankfully, The New York Times at least gave Eric the chance to share his side of of the truth, and Eric gave his side as well.

Which brings me to wonder. Why would The Daily News editorialize this past Friday that "Pervy Teachers Must get the boot, whilst pervy administrators, or administrators that beat up children don't get the boot? Sock Puppet Walcott gave this information, not just regarding Eric, but 15 other teachers. The editorial says; 

"Chancellor Dennis Walcott had identified the 16 as having been worthy of dismissal when he reviewed disciplinary cases in the wake of the arrests of several school staff members"

The sock puppet decided to share this on his own, on did it come from someone much higher, like a deity in the form of Uncle Mike?

One can only read about Bronxdale High School's principal John Chase Jr and the proclivities he wishes upon his penis. Or even Dr Mychael Willon, formerly a LIS/Network Leader and had a plum position at Tweed recruiting principals. Did not the NYC DOE due its due diligence and was either aware or unaware of Dr Willon being caught masturbating or some other deviant sex act in a Wichita KS adult bookstore in 1990. Or did the NYC DOE ever investigate the diploma mill in which "Dr" Willon received his Phd, in which several other school districts saw through the charade and did not hire him? But, and this is a big but, perhaps the NYC DOE did come to its senses and decided to gently allow Willon to leave and land on his feet at Alternative Unlimited, a student tutoring and educational company, as chief academic officer in Houston TX?

Oh but there is more. As I mentioned when I "came out," we had an assistant principal at my school, affectionately known in these pages as "Numb Nuts," that had a hankering for beating the shit out of children. Numb Nuts is better known as Derrick Townsend. Derrick has landed nicely on his feet at Community for Special Education 2 in The Bronx.

Poor Olivia. Two weeks ago at David Pakter's hearing she testified that a guidance counselor told her that it "seems as if Mr Pakter" was selling watches to students. Notice the key word in the quote, "seems." No according to Websters, seems is defined as; 1 : to appear to the observation or understanding 2 : to give the impression of being

So there we have it. But for some reason in an email to her principal Poor Olivia said, "the guidance counselor said that Mr Pakter is selling watches to students. Key word in that sentence is, "is." According to Websters is is defined as; —used as the auxiliary of the present participle in progressive tenses expressing continuous action (he is reading)(I have been sleeping) or better yet, (he is selling watches to students).

Now after her direct testimony Poor Olivia stood pretty fast by this statement. But in her cross, Poor Olivia completely contradicted herself and folded like a wet noodle. Not only that the very nest day the guidance counselor testified that he never said anything to Poor Olivia.

But there is a major question here. If Poor Olivia was notified of such doings, could she not have saved time and the DOE's money by simply asking Mr Pakter for the truth? In her capacity as an assistant principal she was well within her duties to do so. Why would she need to go right to the principal and involve an investigation?

The reason is because Poor Olivia knows she has no skills. No skills two be an administrator. Like Numb Nuts, she needs to show that feels she needs to suck up to the principal to show she belongs. Why else would a person after only five years in education go right into administration? She is a climber, and damn whomever gets in her way.

There used to be a time when administrators were veteran teachers, teachers that paid their dues over fifteen years or more. Now little these little peon's like Poor Olivia come around and they want to climb up that ladder. But something is missing. The skills to stay atop that ladder. The lack of confidence in their own skills. This is Poor Olivia.

But Poor Olivia did not look up Websters definition of perjury; the voluntary violation of an oath or vow either by swearing to what is untrue or by omission to do what has been promised under oath : false swearing


One would wonder if Poor Olivia ever violated any DOE rules or Chancellor's Regulations. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I will continue blogging. Just wish to change the name, URL and focus of the blog. The school community won. The evil Sith Lord Dear Principal John Deacon was removed. It's evil apprentice Numb Nuts was removed. We hit the exacta. However, the idiocy, the hypocrisy, the incompetence of Tweed is still here. June 30th is coming and hopefully, and I believe, things will change. And come November hopefully there will be another change.

As far as the dirty little secrets. It was known ten days ago Sith Lord Dear Principal John Deacon was being replaced. The other dirty little secret is never send Numb Nuts to a student to incriminate a teacher with false charge of corporal punishment. Because Numb Nuts was not bright enough to not tell the student, "we are trying to get rid of this teacher." Notice the keyword there, "we." Numb Nuts did not conjure that pronoun up on his own. Like a good little Schutzstaffel officer he is, he could not say no to Der Führer's orders. Oh and before I forget. Numb Nuts should not coach a student in how to write a statement in the bogus corporal punishment.

It is all about Karma baby!

Numb Nuts, now is the time to do the right thing. Time to make it up for all the careers you tried to ruin with such petty letters in the file. You do have it in you. To be a rat that is.

Dear Principal John Deacon lives in fear of what you know and what you might say. Don't think for a moment that it is going to come riding in on a white horse and save you. Only you can make it better for yourself. Remember the show "Mission Impossible"? What did the voice say to Jim?

As always, should any member of your team be caught or killed, the Secretary will disavow all knowledge of your actions.

Dear Principal John Deacon has disavowed you. You have become the fall guy. Not that you are guiltless in the whole boondoggle, but you are the one taking the rap. It does not have to be that way. Do the right thing. You need to make peace with yourself. This is the only way you can.

Putz. Schmuck. Douchebag. There really is an endless flow of adjectives to describe Numb Nuts. Numbskull is one that comes to mind.

Yesterday a boy, a fourth grader, told his teacher, "fu** you bitch, suck my d**k." Such language. Normally this use of the English language would be frowned upon by polite society. This after the young man hocked a loogey on the stairwell wall.

Anyhoo, Numb Nuts was immediately notified. This was necessary due to the fact that bothering The Chosen One could not, would not, will not deal with any situation, and Dear Principal John Deacon was holed up in its bunker pretending that all is well.

Numb Nuts eventually sauntered to the classroom where this fourth grader used such foul and abrasive language and took charge of the boy. He returned later and explained to the teacher that he was on top of the matter and that a custodian was called to clean up the aforementioned loogey. As of this writing it must be reported that wall and stairwell are resting and doing fine.

But not so the teacher. It is speculated that the teacher took offense of the offer from this boy and was looking to Numb Nuts for some kind of leadership, some sort of empathy, compassion. But alas, it soon dawned on the teacher that this was not to be found in Numb Nuts. Instead Numb Nuts, in his best condescending, patronizing voice blabbered, "this is normal for special needs students." One would assume that a response such as this from Numb Nuts is normal from an assistant principal with special needs.

But wait, what about any kind of talking to from Numb Nuts to the young man? Surely you ask this called for some type of repercussions, some consequences. Of course it did. The young man was taken back to Numb Nuts office where he spent the next fifty minutes playing video games on Numb Nuts computer! I say jolly good old chap! That is really showing the student the seriousness and inappropriateness of what was said. I am sure the young man learned his lesson.

What a tool Numb Nuts is.

At my school we have a teacher in Club Gitmo, oops, I meant to say Guantanamo Bay Detention Center, oops I meant The Rubber Room for allegedly using swear words directed at a student. Funny how one's entire career can be ruined for an allegation.

Also at my wonderful school we have a "teacher" that has been accused by an entire class of putting them down, putting their lives down, putting their parents down. This "teacher" has belittled students for their living conditions, called the students losers, their parents losers as well. This "teacher" is not in The Rubber Room. Does anyone notice some sort of disparity? I certainly do.

Suffice it to say this "teacher" is protected. Nepotism works this way. So does reaching the level of your incompetence. It seems this teacher shares much of the DNA of Dear Principal John Deacon's gatekeeper, henchman, capo, Judenrat, or whatever. So naturally John Deacon heads the exclusive blue ribbon panel of itself looking into this matter and comes back and claims that after an exhaustive investigation the charges were unfounded. Case closed.

Only that there never was an investigation. Again Dear Principal John Deacon lies. Again Dear Principal John Deacon cares only for itself. Again Dear Principal John Deacon underestimates the parents.

The parents are getting their mojo and now are calling into OSI directly. Good for them! But they better be careful, because just as OSI is sweeping Numb Nuts assaults on children under the rug, so soon will OSI be doing the same for the "teacher."

A student trashed his classroom today. Must have been pissed about something. 911 was about to be called when Numb Nuts numb nutted by and discouraged the frightened teacher from following through on it. Numb Nuts took the student to his office and probably talked in a nice condescending, patronizing voice. This is the way one talks who has "made it out" of the projects and talks to those whom lives in the projects. There is always an aura of superiority. But I digress.

At today's faculty conference teachers were told not to call 911 under any circumstances. That we are to call an administrator. That is if we can find one. Administrators, we were told can, and will take care of the problem. HA! I call bullocks! If the administration did take care of problems there would be no need to call 911. Anyway on that note.......

The more people know, the safer you are, the unwanted light gets shined on the incompetence of the administration!

Students now control the second floor at Rikers, er oops, I mean my school. This is where all the lower grades are and students are continually cut class whilst hanging out in and vandalizing the bathroom. This is the same bathroom that first graders, and kindergarten students use. These rouge students are also going into the gym unsupervised and using physical education equipment. Want to know the most ironic thing? The second floor also contains Numb Nuts office. Why isn't Numb Nuts making his presence known to this students and ending this state of terror once and for all. Oh, I forgot. The students think he is a joke, and he has no presence.

We here at SBSB would like to offer Numb Nuts and Dear Principal John Deacon a chance to reply to the above allegations. We are sure they are both quite aware of this blog and wish to give their sides of the story. We are sure they can answer why nothing is being done, or how they can accept students being put in harms way. We wonder if they think that this the students are best being served, and if this is an an example of Children First.

A special new program has been implemented last week to react to student's that cause mayhem in the school. There are revolutionary on scale, and just might set the standard for student disciplinary procedure throughout the 21st century. These plans have yet to be copyrighted so the lawyers here at SBSB have given the go ahead to publish the plans. The two plans are:

Operation Please:

In this plan a student that has hit a teacher, a child, used foul language, thrown milk, not gone to class all week is brought to Numb Nuts office. Once there Numb Nuts, or Dear Principal John Deacon, or The Chosen One sits the offending student down. They then say to the child, "please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, will you behave?" The child seeing that Numb Nuts, Dear Principal John Deacon, or The Chosen One is serious, promptly agrees to this and is sent back to class. Or the hallway.

Operation Office:

In this plan administration are assigned to be in their office at a certain time. This overrides the previous edict by Dear Principal John Deacon that "I do not want my AP's in their offices at all." Dear Principal John Deacon and its minions will be at their desks at scheduled times during the school day ready and willing to take responsibility for the circus like atmosphere they have created. Only during these appointed times will administration implement Operation Please. If sh** happens when they are not in their office, then tough you know what.

But if all else fails there still is:

Operation Ostrich:

Very Simple. Head is hidden in sand, hope the problem goes away.

A student goes up to a teacher in my school and says, "Me and my gang are going to kill you." What does the teacher do? Better yet, what should the teacher do? Notify Numb Nuts of the indiscretion? Of course not. Numb Nuts will talk to the boy in his condescending, patronizing voice to the boy and ultimately do nothing. Perhaps Dear Principal, John Deacon might be notified? No, John Deacon is too busy holding up in its bunker to care or do anything other than being useless. So what should this teacher do?

The teacher did the right, and now the only thing to do. The phone was picked up and 911 was called. We are done dealing with incompetent, lazy, hide their head in the sand administrators. From now on when a teacher is either touched, or threatened 911 will be called. This should also be done whenever Numb Nuts touches a student.

The cops came an awoke Dear Principal John Deacon from some useless endeavor it was involved in. Unfortunately NYPD instead of sending Sipowicz and Simone sent Toody and Muldoon instead. They informed all involved that there is nothing that they can do, and that another city agency can't investigate another city agency. Yeah, sure. And I am the queen of England.

Remember, see something, say something. Keep calling 911 and the light stays shining on the school, and hopefully Numb Nuts can be in a perp walk.

SBSB has come across another before seen video of Numb Nuts going through training to be an AP.

Calling OSI is a waste in regards to Numb Nuts continuing habit of assaulting students. I refuse to call it corporal punishment. It is assault. The report will get lost in the labyrinth of OSI.

Call 911. Simple as that. The next time you see a student assaulted or a student reports to a teacher of assault by Numb Nuts call 911. Let NYPD deal with this. Don't think for a moment that the administration will protect you and not call NYPD if the situation ever arises. By having NYPD involved, the parent will be called and best, there will not be the Nixonian cover-up.

We here at SBSB have just come across a video of Numb Nuts at assistant principal school. This video was taken during the AP school Olympics. I can't use his real name, see if yolu can figure out which one Numb Nuts is.

A colleague of mine that is sitting in the Rubber Room found out what his "charges" are yesterday. Understand that these charges are still under investigation, that they are alleged, and contrary to the DOE's believes, innocent till proven guilty. He was charged with allowing students to run out of the class, and verbal abuse.

But loyal readers I ask this question. Why does this teacher sit in the Rubber Room? Why does this teacher have charges? Why am I asking these questions? Why is this teacher any different from what is going on in my school?

Students run around all day in my school, John Deacon knows about it and does nothing at all. Except when John Deacon's best friend is in the school and locks the kids away like one would the crazy aunt when company arrives. I would have to come to the conclusion that not only is John Deacon condoning such behavior, but is culpable in it as well.

John Deacon also covers up Numb Nuts physical abuses of students. Numb Nuts has several allegations of corporal punishment. He continues to get ever so close to the line. Why has he not stopped this deranged, anti-social behavior? Could it be that John Deacon condones said behavior? And if John Deacon condones said behavior, then John Deacon must be culpable in this behavior. I wonder if John Deacon thinks this is OK: CHECK THIS OUT!!

The Dude is smart. I mean smart. And boy is he perceptive. If he respects you, he will go through a wall for you. If he doesn't respect you, he can make your live a living hell. The trick is to win his respect, to win his trust. How is that done? Simple. Be firm. Mean what you say. Make him feel important. Give him boundaries. Do not patronize nor condescend. And don't abuse him.

Today a teacher told me that The Dude in a private conversation, completely on his own volition, explained how the school doesn't care about him. And that Numb Nuts abuses him. Wow, out of the mouths of babes comes this. The Dude is so verbal. The Dude knows the deal. The Dude speaks the truth. The Dude is all right.

Why won't my school administrators do right by The Dude?

I am retracting this post as I had promised. In fact if you had clicked on the link you will have not gotten a thing. The post I am referring to is the one in which parents of a student were pressured into signing a waiver absolving Numb Nuts of any corporal punishment on their son. But, and this is a big but, this does not mean that something un-pareve happened. For you goyem, pareve is Yiddish for kosher.

The young man in question was summoned to the office of the infallible Numb Nuts last Thursday. Numb Nuts instructed the boy to write a statement concerning the corporal punishment allegation. See something a bit amiss here? Numb Nuts was taking part, if not leading the investigation, into charges of corporal punishment levied against him. Is this proper protocol? Does this mean now that any teacher can lead the investigation if they have charges? Is this proper NYCDOE protocol for corporal punishment?

The young man did what he was asked. Or told. He wrote it up at home that night. But perhaps there was a kink in the plans. His parents came in the next day. So did OSI investigators. But from what I have been told it was several hours apart. Now that I think about it and writing this out I still smell a rat, a very stinky rat.

So on that matter I am not retracting the post. Nor am I apologizing. Something is rotten. Is there a cover-up? I don't know, but you know the old saying, "if it walks like a duck, if it quacks like a duck, if it swims like a duck, it must be a duck."

But remember kiddies, what was it Richard Nixon said in 1977?

Yesterday a 2nd grade student from everyone's favorite CTT class threatened to break the neck of another 2nd grade student in another class. The teacher of the CTT class immediately notified Assistant Principal, and 2009 nominee for administrator of the year, the one, the only, Numb Nuts. This happened just before 1 PM. She asked Numb Nuts to take the student and was looking forward to the chancellor's discipline code being enforced. Yes, this is a 2nd grader, but it still must be taken seriously.

At approximately 2 15 PM the other teacher in this CTT class noticed Numb Nuts sitting at the computer in the office. In a very matter of fact tone of voice Numb Nuts was asked if had seen to the young man and what kind of resolution had come about. Part of the collaborative attitude we teachers have at my school. Numb Nuts basically had no time, nor an answer to give to this teacher. However, Numb Nuts did find the time to berate the teacher for being tardy with some paperwork. Numb Nuts has his priorities straight. I mean over an hour passed and this was not looked into at all?

Now let's play devil's advocate for a moment. Should a threat such as the one made be taken seriously, especially if it is by a 2nd grader? I think any threat like this should be, and more importantly why the anger at such a young age. Where does this child here something like this? What is the students background. Numb Nuts does not know, nor does he care. I know this child well. There is a lot of anger within him, but a lot of good that is desperate to get out. This boy is smart as a lick, and has a lot of issues that need to be addressed. Unfortunately, he is in the wrong school to have these issues addressed.
