'Game of Thrones' Preview Analysis: 'the Broken Man'

Warning: Spoilers ahead for "Game of Thrones" season six, including speculation of future events.

The second half of season six was off to a fiery start with Sunday's "Blood of My Blood." One of the key scenes revolved around the High Sparrow, King Tommen, and the Lannister/Tyrell alliance. We watched as Tommen joined forces with the Faith Militant, effectively making Westeros a theocracy and undermining his parents' plan in one fell swoop.

Now Jaime is heading to the Riverlands, and the sneak peek at the upcoming episode — "The Broken Man" — has a lot of promising hints. The vague description released for the episode says: "The High Sparrow eyes another target. Jaime confronts a hero. Arya makes a plan. The North is reminded."

Let's take a look at what (and who) we can expect in episode seven of "Game of Thrones," plus we toss some predictions into the mix.

Jaime will arrive at Riverrun, the castle historically occupied by the Tully family (Catelyn Stark's childhood home).

He's going to meet with the Blackfish, a.k.a. Brynden Tully — Catelyn's uncle and a renowned fighter who has taken his castle back from the Freys.

The Blackfish was present at the Red Wedding, but happened to go outside to relieve himself right before the massacre began.

Jaime, newly relieved of his duty as Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, has been charged with laying siege to Riverrun and ousting the Blackfish.

Jaime won't be setting out on his own. Bronn is back! The season five bro-team will be reunited again in the Riverlands.

The Freys are going to use Edmure Tully, the Blackfish's nephew, to force him to yield. Here we see a Frey holding a knife to Edmure's throat.

This Frey (possibly Lothar, Walder's son) looks concerned. Some fans believe we're going to see a resurrected character in the Riverlands ...

That's right. We could be seeing Catelyn Stark's zombified self, known as Lady Stoneheart in the books. People think she may appear due to the converging plotlines happening in the Riverlands, which is her turf in the book series.

BONUS: This shot is from one of the season six trailers, and not the episode seven one, but here we see Brienne and Pod inside Riverrun. Sansa sent them to bring the Tully army north, so we can expect a Jaime and Brienne reunion.

Here is a mysterious scene we can't confidently place. The grassy area looks like it could be the Riverlands, and the limping foot is moving through a pile of dead bodies.

Could this be The Hound's return? We know the episode title "The Broken Man" ties into the fan theory about his survival, so perhaps next week will be the episode when it finally happens.

Changing locations, we see the Greyjoy ships docked in Volantis — the slave city Tyrion and Varys stopped in last season.

Yara and Theon are planning to take back the Iron Islands, somehow.

Meanwhile we return to Sansa, Jon, and Davos on their mission to gather an army of Northern houses.

Sansa seems defensive. "I did what I had to do to survive," she says. "I will always be a Stark." Perhaps some of the lords are accusing her of siding with the Lannisters and Boltons without knowing the full story.

Davos knows what is truly important though — fighting the White Walkers. He is going to reason with the leaders.

We get a first look at Galbart Glover, the Lord of House Glover in the North.

Will he follow Sansa and Jon into battle? Keep that chin up, Sansa.

Jon looks grim as he faces the wildlings in their camp.

Sansa seems concerned as well. Perhaps she's seeing her very first giant — we know Wun Wun is with the wildlings, after all.

Tormund is back to being Jon's hype man. "He died for us. If we are not willing to do the same for him, we're cowards."

The wildlings shouldn't need too much convincing — they know their lives are owed to Jon.

Sansa is writing letters with the Stark seal. This episode will really be a focal point of the Starks' vengeance.

Last but not least, Olenna Tyrell is unamused with Cersei's screw ups. "Our two ancient houses face collapse because of your stupidity," she tells Cersei.

After all, Cersei was the one who armed the Faith Militant and gave the High Sparrow power. She has no one to blame but herself. Can she accept responsibility? We doubt it.
