Amazon's fall Prime Day event, called Prime Big Deal Days, starts tomorrow. The sale will be held on October 8 and 9, and we expect savings on tons of products, including audio gear like headphones and earbuds. Our deals hunters will compile all of the best Prime Day headphone deals when the sale officially starts, and we're already seeing some solid price drops ahead of the big event.
Right now, the Sennheiser Momentum 4, one of our picks for the best noise-canceling headphones, are on sale for more than $100 off. That's just $10 more than the all-time low. And Apple's brand-new AirPods 4 are already on sale. Though just a small discount, it's rare to see such new models get deals so quickly.
Below are all the best early Prime Day headphone deals available so far. We'll update our list with more discounts once the Prime Big Deal Days sale kicks off, so be sure to check back.
Apple's latest generation of AirPods features a new design to optimize comfort for wearers of every kind. It's powered by the H2 chip and uses a smaller case than ever.
The AirPods Pro 2 are a big upgrade from their predecessors, with improved noise cancellation and battery life. They also support new aural health features to assess your hearing and function as hearing aids. This model comes with a USB-C charging case and added dust resistance.
Apple’s original AirPods Max are still available at some retailers and often cost less than the refreshed model with USB-C. This version uses a Lightning connection for charging and supports wired audio with a 3.5mm adapter.
The Arctis Nova Pro Wireless is a high-end gaming headset with multi-platform support, a wireless control hub, active noise cancellation, and leatherette ear cushions.
Amazon's 2024 Prime Big Deal Days event, its second Prime Day sale of the year, will start on October 8 and run through October 9.
Are Prime Day headphone deals good?
Amazon's Prime Day sales are known for offering excellent discounts on headphones. During the store's July Prime Day sale, several popular over-ear models, earbuds, and gaming headsets dropped to all-time low prices.
What headphone deals should you expect on Prime Day?
In the lead-up to the event, we're already seeing small discounts on Apple's brand-new AirPods 4 models, so it's possible that those earbuds could drop to even lower prices. In the past, we've seen the Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones drop to an all-time low, so it's likely that model could also see great savings during the Prime Big Deal Days sale.
Do you need a membership to shop for Prime Day deals?
Yes, deals during Prime Day sales are exclusive to Amazon Prime members. This includes Lightning Deals and invite-only purchase opportunities, which give access to some of the event's best products and prices on a limited basis. New members can get a 30-day free trial. As Business Insider’s senior tech reporter, Antonio has developed industry-leading battery-life tests for smartphones and tablets, and has covered and reviewed hundreds (if not thousands) of products from major brands like Apple, Google, Samsung, and OnePlus since as far back as Samsung’s Galaxy S6, the original Apple Watch, and the very first Google Pixel. This decade-plus of experience has given him tremendous insights into what consumer tech truly stands the test of time and what will be irrelevant in just a few years' time (RIP The Pebble).Antonio is also an experienced deal hunter, surfacing the best discounts on phones, laptops, and smartwatches for readers during sale events like Prime Day, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday. Previously, Antonio was a consumer-electronics analyst at PCMag and ran his own blog. Why you can trust AntonioAntonio approaches all his reviews not only as a tech expert but as a consumer himself. He reads every word of fine print in the phone carrier plans he reviews, and is deeply skeptical of deals that promise you the latest iPhone model for free. (Spoiler: it might be “free,” but you could be stuck with it for three years.)He largely recommends less expensive and small-scale fixes to upgrade your existing tech before considering buying the latest and flashiest in new tech. Antonio believes his role as the go-to “tech guy” for his family and friends extends to his readers as well; he only recommends products that have stood up to the testing process.Scripps News, NewsNation, Fox 5 DC, NBC LX, and Rich DeMuro’s “Rich On Tech” radio show have requested his commentary and expertise.
