Reese's has the perfect response to people whining about its misshapen 'chocolate trees'

Reese's fans have been complaining about the shape of the company's Tree candies a lot this season — but judging by a recent tweet, the company apparently isn't too bent out of shape about it.

It all started when Reese's started rolling out its Christmas tree-shaped seasonal candies. Consumers felt some of them weren't looking very tree-like.

The candies are supposed to have a jagged silhouette to mimic the branches of an evergreen — not the smooth, soap-bar-like shape that many of these tweets show:

At first, Reese's was contrite, responding with apologies to the miffed customers:

Then, a few weeks later, Reese's was already apparently changing its tune about the Trees:

And now, the company has sent out the definitive tweet implying it's not ashamed of the shape of its trees.

Consumers are reacting in varying ways. Some are proud of Reese's for sticking by even its slightly misshapen products:

Reese's spokesperson Anna Lingeris told TI the company is listening to Tree fans' complaints, but would like to keep the conversation light-hearted.

"We recognize that all of our tress are not exactly alike, just like real Christmas trees," Lingeris said. "We wanted to address these comments with our own personal take on what makes all trees special while reminding them that it’s the same delicious Reese’s chocolate and peanut butter shapes that you know and love.  In the end, we love ALL of our trees."
