It's been ten long years since Sarah Michelle Gellar's face graced the small screen.
Tonight, she's back, in a labor-intensive role: playing a set of twins on the CW drama "Ringer."
And there's a lot riding on Gellar's return to television.
CW is, in a way, is Gellar's old network home -- the WB, which aired "Buffy," merged with UPN to form the CW in 2006.
And CW, best known for "Gossip Girl" and the newer "90210," is pinning its hopes for an older audience on Gellar and the fans who grew up loving her.
1991: Gellar played a teenage Jackie Kennedy in the NBC miniseries "A Woman Named Jackie."
1992: At the age of 15, Gellar got her big break: she was cast on the teen soap "Swans Crossing."
1993: "Swans" was short-lived, but Gellar jumped to the soap opera big leagues immediately. She played Kendall Hart on "All My Children" for the next two years.
1996: Gellar premiered in the lead role of a supernatural soap called "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," from a then little-known showrunner named Joss Whedon. The show became a cult phenomenon and ran until 2003.
1997: As "Buffy" fever raged, Gellar launched her movie career with "I Know What You Did Last Summer" alongside a trifecta of '90s pop celebrities: Freddie Prinze, Jr., Ryan Philippe and Jennifer Love Hewitt. The movie grossed $125 million.
1999: We are including Gellar's confusing Manhattan chef talking crab disaster "Simply Irresistible" only because we would still like our money back.
1999: Luckily for Gellar, the cult-hit "Cruel Intentions" (in which Gellar famously seduced Selma Blair) eclipsed "Irresistible."
2002: As "Buffy" entered its last year, Gellar married Freddie Prinze, Jr. in Mexico.
2004: Gellar appeared in horror flick "The Grudge." When her William Morris agent was quoted in The New Yorker saying the film would make Gellar, "who is currently nothing," a star, she dropped the agency.
2005-2008: Gellar appeared in a series of low-budget, low-profile films including "Suburban Girl" and "The Air I Breathe." She also did a ton of voicework in animated movies and series like "Robot Chicken."
2009: Gellar gave birth to her daughter, Charlotte Grace.
2010: Gellar shot an HBO pilot, "The Wonderful Maladys," that the network ultimately decided to scrap.
2011: Gellar confirmed that she'll guest on her old show "All My Children" during its final episodes on network TV (the show is moving online after being canceled by ABC).
